This page is therefore a price-watch and buying guide, not a list of live offers. The RTX 4080 was Nvidia’s second-tier GeForce 40-series card below the RTX 4090 when it launched in November 2022—not Nvidia’s second-best GPU across its entire 2026 lineup.
When November stock appears, compare RTX 4080 and RTX 4080 SUPER listings separately, identify the seller and condition, and judge the complete checkout price against newer graphics cards. An old card is a deal only when its price, warranty and compatibility make sense together.

What counts as an RTX 4080 deal?
A listing is useful only when you know exactly what is being sold. RTX 4080-family pages can mix different models, conditions and sellers.
- RTX 4080 16GB: the original Ada Lovelace model, launched at $1,199.
- RTX 4080 SUPER 16GB: the faster refresh with the same memory capacity and reference power rating.
- New retail: unopened stock with the manufacturer or retailer warranty.
- Open-box: returned or opened stock; inspect the warranty and return terms.
- Refurbished or “refreshed”: repaired, tested or repackaged stock. Establish who performed the work and who provides the warranty.
- Used marketplace: privately or commercially resold hardware with greater condition and warranty risk.
- Complete gaming PC: a system containing an RTX 4080; compare the whole system rather than treating it as a standalone-card price.
Exclude pages for replacement coolers, support brackets, accessories, incorrect SKUs and listings that cannot actually be purchased. A crossed-out price is not evidence of a saving unless the card was recently offered at that price by a credible seller.

Black Friday deal status and price signals
There are no verified Black Friday 2026 offers to report before November 27. Existing listings show why condition and seller details matter:
| Observed listing or indicator | Price and status | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| TechSpot RTX 4080 price tracking | $1,795 on August 15, 2026; recent low $1,239 | Market indicators, not guaranteed inventory. See TechSpot’s price history. |
| GPU Prix RTX 4080 listings | $1,421 new and $877 used when viewed | Condition and seller type make these non-equivalent prices. See GPU Prix listings. |
| MSI RTX 4080 Gaming X Trio on Nvidia Marketplace | $1,279.99; out of stock | Do not describe an unavailable page as a deal. View the listing. |
| ASUS TUF RTX 4080 SUPER on Nvidia Marketplace | $1,099.99; out of stock | A historical signal only. View the listing. |
| Newegg RTX 4080 SUPER search results | Refurbished ASUS TUF observed at $999.99; many new marketplace listings above $1,500 | Search results combine sellers, conditions and shipping terms. Check the current results. |
Before publishing or buying any November offer, record the exact SKU, seller, condition, price before tax and shipping, discount type, warranty provider, return window, stock status, timestamp and whether the retailer or a third party fulfils it.
How much should you pay?
Do not set a fixed Black Friday number months in advance. Compare the all-in price with the current market median and with newer cards available at checkout.
- Exceptional: at least 20–25% below the prevailing new-card price from a major retailer, with normal warranty coverage.
- Good: clearly below recent comparable prices and below a newer card offering similar performance.
- Fair: ordinary market pricing without a meaningful discount.
- Bad: above the $1,199 launch MSRP, above a faster current-generation alternative, or sold by an unknown marketplace seller.
- Avoid: used or refurbished hardware without a documented warranty, return policy or credible seller history.
For practical decisions, a new original RTX 4080 should be substantially below comparable newer cards. A refurbished RTX 4080 SUPER around $1,000 can be attractive only with a clear warranty and returns. A used RTX 4080 below roughly $900 may make sense when the seller and buyer protection are credible; an unusually low listing is not equivalent to a new retail deal.
RTX 4080 versus RTX 4080 SUPER
| Specification | RTX 4080 | RTX 4080 SUPER |
|---|---|---|
| Architecture | Ada Lovelace | Ada Lovelace |
| CUDA cores | 9,728 | 10,240 |
| VRAM | 16GB GDDR6X | 16GB GDDR6X |
| Memory bus | 256-bit | 256-bit |
| Reference boost clock | 2.51GHz | 2.55GHz |
| Total graphics power | 320W | 320W |
| Nvidia minimum system power | 750W | 750W |
Nvidia’s official specifications show a modest refresh rather than a new generation. Choose the SUPER when prices are close, or when its cooler, warranty or condition is better. Buy the original RTX 4080 only when it is meaningfully cheaper. A larger cooler or factory overclock does not by itself justify a premium.

Is an RTX 4080 still worth buying in 2026?
Why it remains appealing
- 16GB of GDDR6X remains useful for 4K gaming and many creative workloads.
- Strong ray-tracing performance, DLSS 3 features including Frame Generation, Reflex and broad game support.
- Hardware AV1 encoding for streaming and video production.
- 320W reference graphics power, lower than the RTX 4090’s class of power demand.
- Mature drivers and Nvidia’s CUDA and creator-software ecosystem.
Why price matters more than the badge
- It is an older Ada Lovelace generation and lacks features introduced by newer GeForce generations.
- Scarce old stock can be priced irrationally; a $1,400–$1,800 listing may be poor value even if marked down.
- Sixteen gigabytes is not guaranteed to satisfy future professional, AI or heavily modded workloads.
- Used cards can have mining history, coil whine, worn fans, repaired boards or expired warranty.
TechSpot describes the RTX 4080 as a powerful 4K card while noting that competing products can offer better rasterization value depending on price. Results vary by game, resolution, settings, ray tracing, upscaling, frame generation, CPU and driver.
Compatibility checklist before checkout
- Power supply: Nvidia’s reference recommendation is 750W. High-power CPUs, overclocking, partner-card requirements and lower-quality units may require more headroom.
- Cables: provide three PCIe 8-pin cables for the supplied adapter, or use a compatible 450W-or-greater PCIe Gen 5 cable.
- Case length and width: reference dimensions are 304mm long, 137mm wide and three slots. Allow about 36mm of extra space for the power-connector bend.
- Partner-card dimensions: check the exact manufacturer page; many factory cards are substantially larger than the reference design.
- Other checks: confirm a compatible motherboard PCIe x16 slot, adequate airflow, monitor outputs and physical support for the card.
Use Nvidia’s dimensions only as a reference. Verify every deal against the exact ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte or other partner-card specification.
Buying new, refurbished or used
New retail
Confirm that “new” means unopened, identify who sells and ships it, and check the manufacturer warranty. Include tax and shipping in the comparison.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteRefurbished or refreshed
Find out whether the manufacturer, retailer or unknown third party refurbished the unit. Require a written warranty and a return window long enough to test temperatures, fans and stability. The observed $999.99 refurbished ASUS TUF listing on Newegg is a useful benchmark, not a guaranteed ongoing offer.
Used marketplace
- Request the exact model and serial number and, where warranty transfer matters, the original receipt.
- Ask about mining, repairs, corrosion, bent fins, missing screws and connector damage.
- Require evidence that every fan works and that the card does not overheat or artifact.
- Use platform buyer protection; avoid bank-transfer-only or off-platform payment.
- Confirm the return period before paying.
A low purchase price is not a saving if replacing a failed card removes the difference.

- Powered by NVIDIA DLSS3, ultra-efficient Ada Lovelace arch, and full ray tracing
- 4th Generation Tensor Cores: Up to 4x performance with DLSS 3 vs. brute-force rendering
- 3rd Generation RT Cores: Up to 2x ray tracing performance

- Axial-tech fans scaled up for 23% more airflow
When a newer GPU or gaming PC is better
Compare the RTX 4080 family with the current Nvidia card in the same performance and price tier, a cheaper current-generation Nvidia model, AMD’s closest high-end rasterization competitor, and complete gaming PCs containing an RTX 4080-class GPU. Keep new prices, used prices and warranties in separate comparisons.
Buy the RTX 4080 only when its price, warranty and performance beat the current-generation option available for similar money. Consider a used RTX 4090 only when the price gap is small and the warranty risk is acceptable. A prebuilt can be better value when standalone old-stock GPU pricing is inflated.
Black Friday decision rules
- Buy: the card is substantially cheaper than comparable newer models, fits your system, and has meaningful warranty and return protection.
- Wait: the discount is minor, the stock is limited, or the listing requires a membership, rebate or financing that changes the real price.
- Skip: a newer or faster card costs the same, the “was” price is inflated, the seller is unclear, the card is too large, or you need newer features or more than 16GB VRAM.
Remove expired offers or mark them clearly with a last-checked timestamp. Never leave an out-of-stock page presented as a live deal.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the RTX 4080 still good for 4K gaming?
Yes, it remains a powerful 4K card, particularly with ray tracing and DLSS, but whether it is a good purchase depends on its price versus newer GPUs and on the game’s settings and workload.
Is RTX 4080 SUPER better than RTX 4080?
It has more CUDA cores and a slightly higher reference boost clock, while retaining 16GB, a 256-bit bus and 320W reference power. Prefer it when prices are close.
Rank #4

Can a 750W PSU run an RTX 4080?
750W is Nvidia’s reference minimum recommendation. Your CPU, partner-card design, overclocking, PSU quality and cable configuration may justify more capacity.
Will an RTX 4080 fit in my case?
Reference cards measure 304mm by 137mm and occupy three slots, but partner cards can be larger. Check the exact model’s dimensions and power-cable clearance.
Does the RTX 4080 support DLSS and Frame Generation?
Yes. The card supports DLSS 3-era features, ray tracing, Reflex and hardware AV1 encoding.
Is 16GB VRAM enough in 2026?
It remains useful for 4K gaming and many creative applications, but some professional, AI and heavily modded workloads can benefit from more memory.
Why are some RTX 4080 listings more expensive than newer cards?
Remaining old stock is scarce, and marketplace pages can include inflated prices, different conditions and third-party sellers. Compare the complete offer rather than the model name alone.

The Bottom Line
Wait for verifiable November stock, then buy an RTX 4080-family card only when the all-in price is below comparable newer hardware and the seller, warranty, condition and fit are clear. Prefer the RTX 4080 SUPER at near-equal prices; treat used listings below $900 and refurbished cards near $1,000 as opportunities requiring unusually careful verification.
