Reports put the combined withdrawals at roughly $220 million. The figures show a one-day reversal in fund flows, but do not establish why investors pulled money out.
How much did the funds lose on September 30?
The Crypto Times, citing SoSoValue data captured October 1 at 18:00 UTC, reported about $149 million in Bitcoin ETF outflows, $59.58 million from Ether ETFs, and $11.10 million from Solana ETFs. FinanceFeeds reported $148.7 million, $59.6 million, and approximately $12.5 million, respectively. The reports agree on the direction and approximate scale, but differ most on Solana; their figures imply about $220 million in combined withdrawals, not a definitive exact total.
The Crypto Times’ report and FinanceFeeds’ report both describe U.S. spot ETF flows.
| ETF category | September 30 net flow reported by The Crypto Times (SoSoValue snapshot, October 1, 18:00 UTC) | September 30 net flow reported by FinanceFeeds |

Was this a reversal in September’s overall flows?
It was a reversal for that trading session, not for the month as a whole. Bitcoin’s September 30 outflow ended a nine-session run of inflows during which Bitcoin funds took in about $3.1 billion, according to SoSoValue data cited by The Crypto Times. The same report put September net inflows at $2.65 billion for Bitcoin ETFs, $832.43 million for Ether ETFs, and $271.61 million for Solana ETFs.

The Crypto Times also reported that none of the 12 Bitcoin ETFs and none of the 10 Ether ETFs recorded an inflow on September 30. Those daily figures do not erase the positive monthly totals.

The cited reports do not identify a confirmed cause. They document the outflows and, in FinanceFeeds’ account, place them after sustained institutional inflows; they do not establish that quarter-end rebalancing, profit-taking, price movements, or a macroeconomic development triggered withdrawals. September 30 being quarter-end describes the timing, not a demonstrated explanation.

What the one-day data can—and cannot—tell you
- All three U.S. spot ETF categories saw net withdrawals on the quarter’s final trading day.
- The reported combined amount was around $220 million, with source estimates differing, especially for Solana.
- Bitcoin’s outflow followed a nine-session inflow streak and came in a month with positive reported net flows for all three categories.
- A single session is not evidence by itself of a sustained trend or a broader reversal.
