There is no reliable basis in the available product documentation for ranking 16 current Indian stock screeners. The better shortlist is six tools with clearly documented, but very different, uses: Chartink and StockEdge for configurable scans; Zerodha Streak for broker-linked workflows; Kite Screener for stock discovery inside Kite; and Tickertape and MarketsMojo mainly for broader research.
For day trading, confirm the exchange, segment, candle interval, data delay and broker requirements before relying on any match. A screener finds candidates; it does not validate a trade or guarantee an outcome.
What a day-trading screener must do
Intraday screening is different from filtering companies by annual growth or valuation. A usable day-trading tool should let you identify liquid candidates during market hours, apply technical or market-activity conditions, and show when the underlying data was updated.
- Timing: Check whether results are real-time, delayed or refreshed at a stated interval.
- Technical rules: Look for price, volume, VWAP, percentage change, volatility and indicator conditions when those are part of your method.
- Market coverage: Confirm NSE or BSE coverage and whether equities, futures and options are included.
- Execution workflow: A broker-linked result may let you act immediately, while an independent scanner requires a separate trading platform.
- Logic controls: Verify that every condition uses the intended timeframe and session.

Chartink: the clearest fit for custom intraday conditions
Chartink’s scanner interface includes price, volume, percentage change, VWAP, intraday intensity, trade-book and order-book fields, as well as multiple indicators. It says price data is sourced from the NSE feed and is near-real-time unless indicated; individual scans can be delayed, while premium subscriptions provide real-time scans.

Important timeframe warning
Chartink’s FAQ says users can select intraday timeframes and that one-, two- and three-minute candles begin updating from 9:15 a.m. It also warns that its crossover function may not deliver accurate results when the compared conditions use different timeframes. Use greater-than or less-than comparisons instead when that is the safer interpretation of your rule.
Illustrative scan logic
A non-recommendation example is to combine an intraday price-above-VWAP condition with a volume or percentage-change threshold, then test the scan on the exact candle interval you intend to trade. The values are examples, not a validated strategy. Check the selected exchange, session and delay label each time.
Zerodha Streak: for eligible Zerodha users
Zerodha’s September 22, 2023 announcement described scans across equities, futures and options, prebuilt scans, custom conditions, more than 100 technical indicators, one-minute data and direct order placement through Kite. It also said MCX and CDS futures were not supported in that version.

The current Streak page describes live scanners, identifies the service as exclusive to Zerodha users and shows version 1.0.0 in beta. Those current labels and the older announcement may describe different iterations, so verify the live product’s supported segments, interval and order workflow before subscribing or trading.

Zerodha support describes Kite Screener as a tool within Kite for finding stocks, viewing detailed information, placing orders, setting alerts and creating GTT orders from results. That makes it relevant when keeping discovery and execution in one platform matters.
The available support page does not establish a smallest scan interval, real-time status, complete filter depth or availability across every account type. Treat it as an integrated stock-finding tool rather than assuming it is a dedicated real-time intraday scanner.

StockEdge: broad scan library with stated exchange cadences
StockEdge’s premium offering describes more than 500 scans, custom scan creation and futures-and-options open-interest analysis. StockEdge states that NSE prices update every minute and BSE prices every five minutes.
That difference matters for fast intraday decisions: a five-minute BSE refresh is not equivalent to a continuously updating feed. Check the current premium plan, the market segment you trade and the displayed update status before using a result.

A Zerodha-hosted 2017 launch article described Tickertape filters for profitability, financial ratios, future estimates, broker ratings, technical indicators, ownership and sector comparisons, plus saved screens and exports.

Those capabilities can help build a watchlist or understand a company, but the dated information does not establish current intraday scan timing. Use it as complementary research unless its current official product information confirms the intraday functions you need.
MarketsMojo: style-based research rather than confirmed live scanning
MarketsMojo’s FAQ says its screeners help identify stocks suited to an investing style. The available information does not establish live technical scans, intraday intervals or exchange refresh timing, so it belongs in the research stage rather than a verified day-trading scanner shortlist.

If you need custom technical rules
Start with Chartink, then validate every condition on the intended timeframe and confirm whether the scan is delayed or real-time. StockEdge is another option when its one-minute NSE cadence and scan library match your market.

If execution must stay with your broker
Zerodha users can assess Streak for broker-linked scanning and Kite Screener for integrated discovery. Confirm current beta limitations, segment coverage and the exact action available from a result.
If you are building a watchlist before the session
Tickertape and MarketsMojo may add financial, ownership, sector or style context, but do not treat their documented features as proof of live intraday signals.
Pre-trade checks that prevent common scanner mistakes
- Confirm the exchange and instrument segment, especially when moving between NSE, BSE, equities, futures and options.
- Read the scan’s delay or refresh label; do not infer real-time data from a rapidly changing screen.
- Set one candle interval for each comparison unless the platform explicitly handles multi-timeframe logic.
- Check that the session starts at the expected time and that the first candles are populated.
- Reproduce a few matches manually on a chart before using the scan as a live watchlist.
- Define entry, stop, position size and exit rules separately; a scanner only supplies candidates.
Why a 16-product ranking would be misleading
The documented material supports a practical six-tool shortlist, not a verified ranking of sixteen current products. It does not establish comparable pricing, interval, exchange coverage and intraday functionality for ten additional offerings. Expanding the list without that evidence would create false precision.
The Bottom Line
For documented custom intraday scanning, Chartink is the strongest starting point; StockEdge is useful when its stated NSE/BSE refresh cadence fits your market. Zerodha users can consider Streak or Kite Screener for an integrated workflow, while Tickertape and MarketsMojo are better treated as complementary research tools. Verify live data timing and scan logic before acting on any result.
