Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney opened Something About Her, a sandwich shop in West Hollywood, in May 2024. Bravo reported a soft-opening celebration on May 16, followed by the grand opening on May 22. The familiar faces named in coverage—including Katie’s mother, Teri Maloney, Ariana’s boyfriend, Daniel Wai, and The Valley cast members Janet Caperna and Kristen Doute—were reported at the soft opening, not identified as a grand-opening guest list.
Who attended the soft-opening celebration?
Bravo’s May 17, 2024 report named Teri Maloney, Daniel Wai, Janet Caperna, and Kristen Doute among the attendees at the May 16 celebration. That is a selection of familiar faces reported by Bravo, not a complete guest list. The report concerns the soft opening; it does not establish that these people attended the May 22 grand opening. Bravo’s soft-opening coverage described the event and its guests.
What is Something About Her?
Something About Her is the sandwich shop founded by Madix and Maloney in West Hollywood. Bravo covered the grand opening on May 22, 2024, and reported on the shop’s sandwiches and the owners’ plans. In that coverage, Maloney said they hoped the business would succeed well enough to support additional locations; that was an ambition, not an announcement that other locations had opened. Bravo’s grand-opening report includes the opening details and owner comments.
What was on the menu at opening?
Opening coverage described sandwiches, sweet teas, beer, Avaline wine, Loverboy hard tea, and non-alcoholic drinks. One sandwich, “The Meg,” was described as a Greek-salad-style option with tzatziki, feta, sun-dried tomato and herb mix, and romaine. These are details from 2024 opening coverage, not confirmation of the menu currently available.

How did the owners describe the shop’s design?
The owners described a California-meets-European look with a romantic-comedy sensibility. Maloney called the shorthand “California country meets European cafe,” while Madix said they wanted the space to feel “very California yet European.” Bravo credited designer Jon Hutman with the design. Maloney also said the shop was meant to have “main-character energy in a rom-com.” Those descriptions explain the intended atmosphere rather than serving as a guarantee of any particular experience for visitors.

Bravo reported in March 2026 that the business remained open and was expanding online orders while developing catering. Maloney described the business as going well and discussed the early work of refining preparation and service logistics. Those are statements in a March 2026 interview, not audited sales figures or a guarantee that every service is available today. Read Bravo’s March 18, 2026 update.
