Andhra Pradesh reported net GST collections of Rs 3,182.87 crore in September 2026, up 14.10% from Rs 2,789.50 crore in September 2025, according to The New Indian Express, citing state tax department figures.
What the September increase measures
The 14.10% increase is a year-on-year comparison of Andhra Pradesh’s reported net GST collections for September. It compares the same month in two consecutive years; it is not a month-on-month change, nor a measure of every tax collected by the state.
The exact state-level figures are reported by The New Indian Express as figures from the state tax department. The GST Council’s revenue reference page is an official repository, but the available reporting does not establish that a September 2026 state table there confirms these specific values.

The September amount and 14.10% growth, as well as the cumulative net-GST figures, are reported by The New Indian Express. The broader Commercial Taxes totals should not be added to net GST: they describe a wider collection category, not an additional amount on top of it.

Why the different tax figures should not be mixed
- Net GST: The state-level September figure in the report is Rs 3,182.87 crore.
- Commercial Taxes: The September total of Rs 4,986.18 crore covers a broader category than net GST.
- IGST settlement: Andhra Pradesh was reported to have received an IGST settlement of Rs 1,927.62 crore for September 2026, 20.12% above Rs 1,604.69 crore in September 2025. This is a separate settlement measure, not the net-GST collection total.
- National gross GST: India’s gross GST revenue was reported at Rs 2,03,521 crore in September 2026, up 14.7% from Rs 1,77,365 crore. News On AIR reported these national figures; they are not directly comparable with Andhra Pradesh’s net GST because the measures have different scopes.
The state and settlement amounts are reported by The New Indian Express. The national gross figures are from News On AIR.
What the department said contributed to growth
The report attributes the increase to improved compliance, stronger enforcement, closer revenue monitoring and broader economic activity. It also lists initiatives including AI-based data analytics and scrutiny, AI-based IGST reversals, UPI-based enforcement analytics, DISCOM-linked registration verification and Aadhaar-integrated expansion of Profession Tax.

The reported 14.10% state growth and 14.7% national growth may look similar, but they describe different accounting measures: Andhra Pradesh’s figure is net GST, while the national figure is gross GST revenue. The state report also compares Andhra Pradesh’s post-settlement growth with an 8% national post-settlement average and neighboring-state rates. Those comparisons are available through the same news report and should be understood as reported comparisons, not independently verified rankings.
