Amazon Prime Day 2024: The Best Tech Deals That Remained After the Sale

Prime Day 2024 ended July 17, but several tech discounts lingered briefly. Here are the documented prices, who each product suited and why they are historical rather than current deals.

Update: Amazon Prime Day 2024 ended on July 17, 2024. The prices below are a historical record of discounts reported on July 18–19, 2024—not live August 2026 offers. Product pages may now show a different generation, seller, condition or price, so verify every detail before buying.

What Prime Day 2024 was—and what “still available” meant

Amazon’s U.S. Prime Day ran July 16–17, 2024, as a 48-hour event for Prime members. Amazon said the event included more than five million deals worldwide across more than 35 categories. The dates and scope are documented in Amazon’s event announcement and deal release.

“Still available” referred to discounts that remained live immediately after the July event. Engadget’s technology roundup was updated July 19, while NBC Select’s broader list was updated July 18. NBC Select included products at the Prime Day price or no more than $2 higher; WIRED warned that prices were changing quickly. Those snapshots do not establish current availability.

Prime Big Deal Days was a separate October 2024 sale, not a continuation of July Prime Day.

The strongest leftover tech deals in the July 2024 snapshot

Product Historical price Reported savings Best suited to Main caution
10th-generation iPad $299 $50 Streaming, school and light productivity Older generation by 2026; check storage and model
AirPods Pro $169 $80 iPhone owners wanting noise cancellation Confirm generation and charging-case version
Apple Watch Series 9 $280 $119 below the cited $399 price iPhone users Compare newer watches; cellular service can add recurring cost
Apple AirTag $24 Not stated Finding keys, luggage and similar items Uses the Find My network; it is not a standalone GPS or safety device
Anker Soundcore Space A40 $49 $31 Lower-cost wireless noise cancellation Check revision, condition and seller
Google Nest Wifi Pro three-pack $300 $100 Larger homes using Google Home Three units may be excessive; compare current Wi-Fi 7 systems

These prices and discounts come from Engadget’s July 19, 2024 roundup: historical deal list.

Apple deals

10th-generation iPad — $299

The iPad’s modern design, USB-C port, solid everyday performance and optional keyboard compatibility made $299 a notable 2024 price. It can suit browsing, streaming, schoolwork and basic productivity. In 2026 it is an older model, so compare processor, display and accessory requirements with current iPads before treating an old listing as a bargain. Apple’s product information is at Apple’s iPad page.

Rank #2
Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 16GB (2024 model) – 7" glare-free display and weeks of battery life – Black
  • Our fastest Kindle Paperwhite ever – The next-generation 7“ Paperwhite display has a higher contrast ratio and 25% faster page turns.
  • Ready for travel – The ultra-thin design has a larger glare-free screen so pages stay sharp no matter where you are.
  • Escape into your books – Your Kindle doesn’t have social media, notifications, or other distracting apps.
  • Battery life for your longest novel – A single charge via USB-C lasts up to 12 weeks.
  • Read in any light – Adjust the display from white to amber to read in bright sunlight or in the dark.

AirPods Pro — $169

The $169 snapshot represented an $80 discount and was most compelling for iPhone users who value active noise cancellation and Apple-device integration. “AirPods Pro” is not enough identification for a current purchase: verify the generation, USB-C or Lightning case, exact model number, condition and seller. See Apple’s AirPods Pro page.

Apple Watch Series 9 — $280

Engadget listed Series 9 at $280 against a cited $399 price. It is designed for iPhone owners; cellular versions may require carrier activation and an ongoing plan. Because newer Apple Watch generations may offer materially different features, compare the current lineup before buying an old Series 9 listing. Product details are at Apple’s Series 9 page.

  • Read for a while - Get up to 6 weeks of battery life on a single charge.
  • Take your library with you - 16 GB storage holds thousands of books.

AirTag — $24

At $24, the AirTag was a modest rather than transformative discount. It can help locate belongings through Apple’s Find My network, which relies on nearby Apple devices for location updates. It is not a universal GPS tracker and should not be used as a personal-safety or anti-theft solution. See Apple’s AirTag page.

Audio: a value alternative to premium headphones

Anker Soundcore Space A40 — $49

The Space A40’s historical $49 price, $31 below the cited regular price, made it a budget-oriented noise-cancelling option. Expect trade-offs versus premium headphones in microphone quality, materials, noise cancellation, software polish and ecosystem integration. Confirm that a listing is new rather than renewed, identify the exact revision and check who sells and fulfills it. Manufacturer information is at Soundcore.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition 32GB (2024 model) – Auto-adjusting front light, wireless charging, and weeks of battery life – Metallic Black
  • Our fastest Kindle Paperwhite ever – The next-generation 7“ Paperwhite display has a higher contrast ratio and 25% faster page turns.
  • Upgrade your reading experience – The Signature Edition features an auto-adjusting front light, wireless charging, and 32 GB storage.
  • Ready for travel – The ultra-thin design has a larger glare-free screen so pages stay sharp no matter where you are.
  • Escape into your books – Your Kindle doesn’t have social media, notifications, or other distracting apps.
  • Adapts to your surroundings – The auto-adjusting front light lets you read in the brightest sunlight or late into the night.

Amazon also advertised discounts of up to 40% on selected Sony headphones during Prime Day. That was a category-level “up to” claim, not evidence that every Sony model reached that discount, so no specific Sony price should be inferred from it. Amazon’s event coverage is at Amazon’s deal roundup.

Networking and smart-home hardware

Google Nest Wifi Pro three-pack — $300

The three-pack was listed at $300, $100 off, and could make sense for a larger home already using Google Home. Wi-Fi 6E benefits require compatible client devices and sensible node placement. A small apartment may need only one router or a two-pack; extra nodes can add cost and interference. Before buying today, verify software support and compare current Wi-Fi 7 alternatives. Google’s product page is Nest Wifi Pro.

Amazon also promoted savings of up to 68% on selected devices and bundles, including eero Pro 6E systems, Ring and Blink products, Fire TV bundles and Fire TVs. “Up to” applied only to selected items, not every device in those categories.

Robot vacuum: Roomba Combo Essential — $190

The Combo Essential appeared at $190, $110 off. It targeted buyers wanting an entry-level robot vacuum with a light mopping function. Basic navigation, obstacle avoidance, maintenance and dock capabilities are not equivalent to premium systems with advanced mapping, self-emptying or self-washing mop docks. Do not call it the best robot vacuum without current comparative testing. iRobot’s product information is at Roomba Combo Essential.

How to check whether a leftover deal is genuinely good

  1. Match the exact model. Check generation, model number, storage, size, color, cellular or Wi-Fi connectivity and bundle contents.
  2. Check price history. Compare with the product’s normal selling price, not only Amazon’s “was” price. Identify whether the reduction requires a clipped coupon, instant discount, bundle or Prime-only price.
  3. Inspect seller and fulfillment. Note whether Amazon sells or fulfills the item. Use extra caution with unfamiliar third-party sellers of batteries, storage and expensive electronics.
  4. Confirm condition. New, used, renewed and warehouse-condition listings are different purchases.
  5. Verify warranty and returns. Coverage can vary by seller, region and condition. NBC Select reported that Prime Day purchases used standard Amazon return rules, with exceptions for categories such as groceries, downloadable software and some jewelry; do not assume those policies remain unchanged.
  6. Check compatibility. Apple Watch and AirTag favor iPhone users; Nest Wifi Pro requires a compatible Google Home setup; smart-home products can depend on accounts, apps, cloud services and regional features.

When to buy—and when to wait

Buying can make sense when

  • You have an immediate need and the live price, model and seller are independently verified.
  • The product is the correct configuration and the discount is meaningful against recent market prices.
  • Your phone, home network or smart-home ecosystem is compatible.

Waiting is safer when

  • The listing is several generations old or a newer model materially improves performance.
  • The apparent discount is small, coupon-dependent or based only on an inflated list price.
  • The seller, condition, warranty or return terms are unclear.

Do not buy solely because an item was called a Prime Day deal in 2024. Expired links may redirect to a replacement model, show a higher price or surface a different seller.

Historical record, not a live shopping list

Amazon Prime Day 2024 is useful as a benchmark for what prices briefly looked like after the event, but those numbers are not August 2026 offers. A current commerce article would need fresh checks of price, inventory, model generation, warranty, seller and returns for every product. Amazon’s general shopping destination is Amazon Deals, while current Prime terms should be checked at Amazon Prime.

The Bottom Line

The best documented post-Prime Day 2024 values were the $299 10th-generation iPad, $169 AirPods Pro, $49 Soundcore Space A40, $300 Nest Wifi Pro three-pack and $190 Roomba Combo Essential—but each price is historical. Treat the list as a dated reference, not proof that any deal or product remains available.
