Amazon Prime Big Deal Days Australia ran from 12:01am AEDT on 8 October to midnight on 13 October 2024. The six-day, Prime-exclusive sale has ended, so the prices below are historical—not current offers—and should be treated as prices reported or advertised during the event, not as proof of a product’s lowest-ever price.
Prime Big Deal Days Australia 2024 at a glance
- When: 12:01am AEDT, Tuesday 8 October, to midnight, Sunday 13 October 2024.
- Who could shop: Amazon Prime members.
- What was included: Amazon devices and products across electronics, appliances, beauty, fashion, toys, books, video games, household essentials and more.
- Why it was held: Amazon positioned the event as an early opportunity to shop for Christmas and said hundreds of thousands of products would be included. Amazon Australia’s event announcement has the dates and event details.
This was separate from Australia’s July 2024 Prime Day, which ran from 16 to 21 July. The US-facing announcement described a shorter 8–9 October event; Australian shoppers had until 13 October. Amazon Australia’s July Prime Day coverage confirms that the July sale was a different event.
Best documented deals from the event
The table separates prices reported by PerthNow during the sale from discounts Amazon advertised. The first six prices were reported on 11 October 2024; they describe what was reported at that time, not an independently verified price history. Percentages are the publications’ or Amazon’s advertised discounts against comparison prices, not evidence of the lowest price available at other Australian retailers.
| Product | Reported or advertised deal | Why it stood out | What to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Instant Pot Vortex Plus 5.7L air fryer | $106, compared with $269; reported as 60% off | Strong practical value for someone looking for a large-capacity air fryer. | Countertop space, basket cleaning and replacement parts. |
| Philips 5000 Series Air Fryer XXL | $235, compared with $449; reported as 48% off | A family-size kitchen appliance at a substantial advertised reduction. | Footprint, capacity and whether the larger format suits your kitchen. |
| Dyson V8 cordless vacuum | $399, compared with $799; reported as 50% off | A lower advertised price on a well-known cordless-vacuum range. | It is an older model; check battery replacement, included tools and whether a newer model or competitor better fits your needs. |
| ECOVACS DEEBOT T20e OMNI robot vacuum | $999, compared with $1,999; reported as 50% off | A large-ticket discount on a robot vacuum with an all-in-one dock. | Mapping, obstacle handling, floor layout, maintenance and the cost of consumables. |
| Dyson Airwrap Origin | $499, compared with $749; reported as 33% off | A premium beauty product at a notably reduced advertised price. | Confirm the exact attachment bundle and warranty; bundles can differ by model or seller. |
| Breville Barista Express | $638.99, compared with $999; reported as 36% off | A substantial reduction for shoppers already considering a home espresso machine. | Allow for routine cleaning, grinder adjustment and the time needed to learn the machine. |
| Echo Pop | Amazon advertised 59% off; prices not stated in its deal announcement. | A low-cost way to add an Alexa speaker if you use that ecosystem. | Consider privacy preferences and whether you want a screen or more capable speaker. |
| Echo Spot (2024 release) | Amazon advertised 34% off; prices not stated in its deal announcement. | The 2024 Echo Spot offered a screen-equipped alternative to a basic speaker. | Compare the screen and features with what you actually need; a percentage alone does not establish value. |
| Roborock Q7 Max+ | Amazon advertised 50% off; prices not stated in its deal announcement. | Potentially useful for buyers prioritising an auto-empty dock. | Check floor type, mapping, consumables and the features of the exact model. |
| Nebula Cosmos Laser 4K projector | Amazon advertised 62% off; prices not stated in its deal announcement. | The largest headline reduction among these selected advertised deals. | Projectors depend on room darkness, throw distance and screen setup; the discount does not establish picture quality or suitability. |
| Sennheiser Momentum 4 Special Edition headphones | Amazon advertised 46% off; prices not stated in its deal announcement. | A sizeable advertised reduction on premium headphones. | Fit, noise cancellation and sound preferences matter more than the percentage. |
The six reported prices are from PerthNow’s 11 October 2024 sale coverage. Amazon’s contemporaneous list advertised the Echo, Roborock, Nebula and Sennheiser discounts above, along with 53% off the ECOVACS DEEBOT N10, 55% off a Philips Essential Air Fryer, 49% off an Instant Pot Duo Plus and 57% off a PRISM+ 55-inch QLED TV. Those are Amazon-advertised event discounts; the announcement does not provide the exact prices for these examples. See Amazon’s live-event deal list.

How to compare the deals by category
Kitchen appliances
The Instant Pot and Philips air fryers were among the clearest practical options because their reported prices and capacities were available. Compare litres, counter space and cleaning effort rather than assuming the largest basket is best. For a pressure cooker such as the Instant Pot Duo Plus, check the included accessories and replacement-pot availability. For a coffee machine such as the Barista Express, factor in regular cleaning and grinder setup alongside the purchase price.
Vacuums and floor care
A cordless vacuum and a robot vacuum solve different problems. The Dyson V8 is a manual cleaner; the DEEBOT T20e OMNI and Roborock Q7 Max+ are robot options, and the Q7 Max+ offer was specifically associated with an auto-empty dock. For robot models, check whether the dock empties dust or also handles mop pads, how well mapping fits your layout, and whether the machine suits your carpets, hard floors, pets and thresholds. Replacement bags, filters and mop parts can change the cost over time.

Amazon devices and smart home
Amazon advertised discounts on Echo devices, Ring products and Kindle devices, alongside other brands including Dyson, ECOVACS, Instant Pot, Bose, LEGO, Sony, Anker, Philips, SharkNinja, Tineco, Breville, adidas, Crocs and Bonds. Echo Pop and Echo Spot were different choices: a compact speaker versus the screen-equipped 2024 Spot. With smart-home products, weigh ecosystem and app use against privacy preferences and any optional subscription-dependent features. A discounted Kindle Scribe, for example, is not automatically the right choice for someone who only needs a basic e-reader.
TVs, projectors and audio
Amazon also advertised discounts on TVs, projectors, headphones and other electronics. For a television, compare screen size, viewing distance, HDR support, brightness, operating system, HDMI features and warranty. For a projector, check room darkness and throw distance before judging its advertised saving. With headphones, assess fit, noise cancellation and preferred features. An older model can still be suitable, but its generation, support expectations and included accessories should be clear before buying.

Did all deals last for six days?
No. The six days were the overall event window, not a guarantee that every offer remained available throughout it. Amazon said deals would be added during the event. Its seller guide describes Lightning Deals as limited-time offers that generally run for four to 12 hours, while Best Deals can run for a limited number of days. That guide’s rule that eligible deal submissions be at least 15% below the lowest price in the previous 30 days is an event-submission requirement—not proof of the lowest price in the product’s history or the best offer across Australian retailers. See the Amazon seller Deals Guide.
- Stock could sell out, and prices could change before checkout.
- Colours, capacities, bundles and sellers could have different prices.
- A coupon or seller promotion might affect the displayed total.
- An item appearing in search results did not guarantee that the deal remained available when ordered.
How to judge whether a Prime Big Deal Days discount was worthwhile
- Confirm the exact item. Match the model number, generation, colour, capacity and included accessories. Check whether a newer model changes features you care about.
- Assess the actual price. Treat “was” or “down from” prices as comparison references, not automatically as the item’s usual market price. Compare the sale price with recent price history and other Australian retailers.
- Calculate the delivered total. Include delivery charges, any required accessories and consumables, and the estimated arrival date. A delayed or costly delivery can reduce the value of a discount.
- Check who is selling and fulfilling it. Read the seller details, fulfilment arrangements, return terms and warranty information, especially for third-party listings.
- Verify Australian suitability. For electronics and appliances, check the plug, voltage and Australian warranty coverage. Imported products can have different delivery, return and warranty conditions; Amazon Global Store listings may also involve different total landed costs.
- Read reviews with care. Look at recent reviews relevant to the exact model and variant, not just the overall rating for a product family.
- Set a spending limit before browsing. A large advertised percentage is not a saving if it prompts an unplanned purchase you do not need.
A seller-deal eligibility rule or a large crossed-out price cannot answer whether an offer was genuinely good for you. The useful test is the exact model’s price history, current alternatives, condition and fit for your needs.

Prime access, trials and shopping tools
Prime membership was required for the event’s exclusive deals. Amazon promoted a 30-day free trial for eligible customers in 2024, but trial eligibility and current membership terms can change. Before starting a trial, check renewal terms and set a reminder if you do not want an ongoing subscription. Amazon’s historical event announcement is not a statement of current Australian Prime pricing.
Amazon’s event tips included using the app for browsing, order tracking and deal alerts, adding target products to a Wishlist and using Alexa to create a shopping list. It also suggested asking Alexa, “What are my deals?” and “Where’s my stuff?” for deal discovery and delivery tracking. These tools help organise shopping, but they do not replace checking price history, the seller and the product details. See Amazon Australia’s shopping tips.

What this guide’s prices can—and cannot—tell you
The October 2024 sale is over. Its prices and stock are historical snapshots, not offers readers can rely on now. The PerthNow figures above were reported during the event, while several other discounts come from Amazon’s event announcement. Neither source establishes that an advertised comparison price was the product’s typical recent price or that the discount was its lowest ever. Use the figures to understand what was offered, not as current buying prices or a promise of future savings.
