Most eligible U.S. Amazon Prime customers do not need to file a claim to receive a payment under the current process. Amazon is distributing refunds automatically by mailed check or through PayPal or Venmo. The earlier claim-form deadline has passed, and the FTC says payments may continue through April 2027. Check the FTC’s official refund page for current eligibility and payment updates.
Am I eligible for the Amazon Prime settlement refund?
The FTC’s current guidance says you must meet all three criteria:
- You are an Amazon Prime customer in the United States.
- You signed up through a challenged enrollment flow, or tried but were unable to cancel through the online cancellation flow, between June 23, 2019, and June 23, 2025.
- You used no more than 20 Prime benefits in any 12-month period after enrolling.
The enrollment flows named by the FTC are the universal Prime decision page, shipping selection page, single-page checkout, and Prime Video enrollment flow. Benefits include Prime Music or Prime Video products offered free to Prime subscribers. These criteria do not determine an individual’s eligibility: the administrator identifies eligible consumers using Amazon’s records. If you are unsure whether you qualify, contact the administrator using the details on the FTC refund page.
Do I need to file a claim?
No. Under the current payment process, eligible consumers do not need to submit a claim or other paperwork; payments are automatic. The earlier claim-form phase is closed: a September 2026 court order set July 27, 2026, as the final date to submit forms. Do not rely on the old form as a way to apply now. The FTC’s current refund guidance explains the automatic process.

How much will I get?
The revised order allows eligible consumers to receive payments tied to Prime subscription fees, up to a maximum total of $200. Earlier payment rounds were capped at $51. Some people who already accepted a payment may receive up to $149 more, bringing their total to $200. The amount for an individual depends on the settlement’s eligibility and payment rules; the maximum is not a guaranteed payment.
The settlement totals $2.5 billion: $1.5 billion for consumer redress and a $1 billion civil penalty, according to the FTC’s 2025 announcement. The FTC reported that more than $845 million in redress had been issued as of September 2026.

When will the payment arrive?
The FTC’s September 17, 2026, announcement said automatic payments to newly included consumers who used 11–20 Prime benefits were to start October 1, 2026. If the settlement’s specified accepted-payment threshold has not been reached by February 2027, additional automatic payments to prior recipients may begin by April 2027. The FTC says payments may continue through April 2027; timing is subject to the settlement process and can change, so check its live refund page for updates.
Payments may arrive as a mailed check or through PayPal or Venmo. These are delivery methods, not separate claim routes. A payment expires 60 days after it is issued, so accept it promptly if you receive one.

The FTC says it is not contacting people about the refund and that no one from Amazon will ever ask you for money to get one. Treat unsolicited calls, texts, or emails promising guaranteed payment or special access in exchange for a fee with caution. Do not pay a refund-recovery service or give sensitive information to someone who contacts you unexpectedly. Verify instructions through the FTC’s official refund page.
