Amazon’s Add to Delivery button lets eligible Prime members add a product to an upcoming delivery without going through checkout again. In the U.S., it is available in the Amazon Shopping app and on Amazon.com from a mobile device; Amazon says using it adds no shipping fee. It does not guarantee that separate purchases will become one order or arrive in one box.
How Add to Delivery works
The feature is a one-tap way to add a new item to a delivery Amazon already expects to make. If you have an upcoming delivery and find another eligible product, its product page may show a blue Add to Delivery button. Tapping it adds the item to a qualifying delivery without another checkout flow. Amazon introduced the feature in the U.S. on October 2, 2025, and describes it as useful for forgotten household essentials and other last-minute purchases. Amazon’s announcement says the option may appear when the delivery is due later that day or the next day.

How to add an item
- Have an upcoming Amazon delivery associated with your account.
- Open the Amazon Shopping app or visit Amazon.com in a mobile browser while signed in to your Prime account.
- Search for the item and open its product page.
- If the blue Add to Delivery button appears, tap it.
- Check the confirmation. If you tapped by mistake, use the immediately displayed Undo option.
Amazon describes this control on eligible product pages, not as a fixed option in Your Orders. If you add something intentionally, check the resulting order details so you know what was added and where it is due to go.
Who can use it—and where
At its U.S. launch, Amazon limited Add to Delivery to U.S. Prime members using the Amazon Shopping app or Amazon.com on a mobile device. It is not a feature for every Amazon customer or every listing. Amazon said customers in the U.S. had used it more than 50 million times by October 22, 2025; that is Amazon’s reported usage figure, not a measure of how often additions become a single package. Amazon’s delivery-speed overview reports the usage milestone.

Availability varies by marketplace. Amazon announced the feature for Canada on July 13, 2026, for Canadian Prime members shopping in the app or on Amazon.ca’s mobile site. Amazon UK said it planned to bring the feature to UK customers in 2026, but that announcement alone does not establish broad UK availability. See Amazon Canada’s announcement and Amazon UK’s delivery update for those market-specific statements.
Does it really consolidate orders?
It can put a later purchase into an upcoming delivery, which is useful shorthand for “adding to a delivery.” But it is not a general tool for combining any two existing orders. Amazon does not promise that the order records will be merged or that the items will ship in one physical box. The available feature description also does not promise that every addition will reduce packaging or create a single delivery stop.

Whether an item can join a delivery depends on the item and the fulfillment situation: inventory, delivery address, timing, available capacity, and the item’s shipping requirements can all matter. Amazon’s Prime terms describe broader limits on Prime delivery benefits, including product eligibility, inventory, addresses, deadlines, participating sellers, and special shipping characteristics. Amazon lists pantry staples, pet products, electronics, clothing, and books as examples of products that may qualify, not as a guarantee that every item in those categories will show the button.
Why the button may not appear
A missing button does not necessarily mean the app is broken. Prime membership alone is not enough: the specific item and the upcoming delivery must be eligible. Try the app or mobile site if you are on a desktop computer, then check that you are signed into the right account and have an upcoming delivery. If the button remains absent, Amazon may not be able to meet the existing delivery promise for that item, address, or shipment.

Fees, review, and accidental taps
Amazon says Add to Delivery carries no additional shipping fee. That does not make the item free: its listed price and applicable taxes still apply, and a product-specific charge or special shipping condition may still matter. Check the order details if the listing has unusual delivery or handling terms.
The convenience comes with less review than ordinary checkout. Before using the button, make sure the item, quantity, price, seller, and delivery address are right—especially for gifts or expensive purchases. If the tap was accidental, use Undo immediately and then check Your Orders. If Undo is no longer available, use the ordinary cancellation controls if Amazon still offers cancellation for that order. Do not assume an added item can always be canceled after the immediate Undo option disappears.

Add to Delivery vs. other Amazon options
| Option | Best for | How it differs |
|---|---|---|
| Add to Delivery | A forgotten item that may fit an upcoming delivery | A product-page shortcut for eligible items; it does not promise one order record or one box. |
| Add to Cart and checkout | Purchases that need a careful review | Lets you review quantity, seller, delivery promise, and payment details before placing the order. |
| Amazon Day | Planning eligible purchases around a preferred delivery day | A separate option designed for planned delivery consolidation, not an immediate addition to an imminent shipment. Amazon has reported packaging and emissions results for Amazon Day; those results should not be attributed to Add to Delivery. Amazon’s Amazon Day explainer. |
| Subscribe & Save | Predictable repeat purchases | Designed for recurring orders rather than a one-off, last-minute addition. |
| Buy Now / 1-Click | A quick purchase without necessarily attaching it to an existing delivery | It is a separate purchase shortcut. An Amazon forum discussion about disabling 1-Click does not establish a setting for disabling Add to Delivery. Amazon forum discussion. |
Is it a good fit?
Use Add to Delivery when the purchase is straightforward, the button is offered, and you are comfortable committing without a full checkout review. Use ordinary checkout if you need to select a different delivery date, compare sellers or shipping promises, confirm a gift address, or review customization, warranty, or payment details. Add to Delivery may avoid a separate delivery in some cases, but Amazon’s announcement does not establish that each use reduces boxes, miles, or emissions.
