The offer covered the standard AirPods 4 without Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) at Amazon and Best Buy. Apple’s $129 list price made that a $49 discount.
What the $79.99 deal included
The promotion was for the standard AirPods 4 without ANC. MacRumors reported the price on November 20, 2025, describing it as the lowest price it had tracked for the base model. The deal was available at Amazon and Best Buy at the time. MacRumors’ deal report is the source for the date, retailers and sale prices.
Apple’s shopping page lists the regular prices at $129 for AirPods 4 and $179 for AirPods 4 with ANC. Apple’s product page establishes those list prices and the separate configurations.
Standard AirPods 4 versus the ANC version
| Model | Apple list price | Reported sale price | Discount | ANC |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AirPods 4 | $129 | $79.99 | $49 | No |
| AirPods 4 with ANC | $179 | $109.99 | $69 | Yes |
The ANC model was a separate deal, not a feature of the $79.99 product. At the reported sale prices, adding ANC cost $30 more. Later deal coverage also described $79.99 as an unusually low or record-low price, including TechRadar’s Best Buy Black Friday coverage.

Is $79.99 a current price?
Nothing in the available evidence confirms that the November 2025 promotion remained live in August 2026. Deal prices can end, sell out or change by retailer, seller and fulfillment method. Treat $79.99 as a documented historical price unless a current Amazon or Best Buy listing independently shows it.
The promotion appeared before Black Friday itself, so “Black Friday pricing” describes the sales period rather than an indication that the deal is permanent. The cited prices are U.S. dollars; taxes, shipping, membership requirements and regional availability can change the checkout total.

What the standard AirPods 4 still offer
Without ANC, the base model remains the lower-cost way to get Apple’s current AirPods experience. Apple describes AirPods 4 as using the H2 chip and supporting features such as:
- Personalized Spatial Audio
- Voice Isolation for calls
- Siri interaction
- A redesigned fit
- A USB-C charging case
Feature descriptions and regional availability can change, so confirm the current specifications on Apple’s product page before buying. The standard model does not provide ANC; its open-style design also generally offers less passive isolation than sealed in-ear earbuds.

Which model makes sense for you?
Choose standard AirPods 4 at $79.99 when:
- You want the lowest reported price for current-generation AirPods.
- You use an iPhone, iPad or Mac and value Apple-device integration.
- You prefer an open-style fit instead of silicone in-ear tips.
- You mainly listen or make calls in reasonably quiet places.
- You are buying a lower-cost Apple gift.
Pay $30 more for the ANC model when:
- You regularly travel by plane, commute, work in a noisy office or exercise in loud environments.
- You specifically want Active Noise Cancellation and a transparency or other noise-control mode.
- You would otherwise need another pair of noise-cancelling earbuds.
ANC changes noise-control capability and listening conditions; it does not automatically mean the earbuds have better sound quality. If you rarely need noise reduction, the standard model preserves the main Apple ecosystem features while costing less.
How to avoid buying the wrong listing
- Read the full product name. Retailers may shorten titles to “AirPods 4,” so look for an explicit indication of whether ANC is included.
- Check specifications and model details. Do not rely on a search-result headline alone; verify the variant and charging-case configuration on the product page.
- Check seller and condition. On Amazon or another marketplace, confirm that the item is new, sealed and sold by a seller you trust. A third-party listing is not automatically the same as direct retailer inventory.
- Review fulfillment, returns and total cost. Shipping, tax, membership rules and return terms may alter the value of a headline price.
- Confirm the price at checkout. The November 2025 promotion does not establish current availability.
Bottom line on the historical deal
At $79.99, the standard AirPods 4 were an excellent low-cost buy for shoppers who did not need ANC, and MacRumors’ tracked-price claim makes the promotion notable. The $109.99 ANC version was the more sensible choice for frequent travelers, commuters and anyone who specifically wanted noise cancellation. Whichever model you consider, verify the exact variant and live price rather than assuming the 2025 deal is still active.
