Short answer: Aegis HRMS is a commercial HR platform that organizations can evaluate and buy. Ultimatix is a TCS employee-services platform restricted to TCS employees and affiliates—not a publicly priced HRMS for outside businesses. They are not direct competitors. If you are buying HR software, Aegis is the actionable option in this pairing; if you want TCS technology, compare Aegis with TCS Cognitive HR or TCS iON HRMS instead.

Details below reflect publicly available information checked on August 16, 2026. Aegis prices and features are vendor-published claims, not an independently verified quote or product test.

What Aegis HRMS offers

Aegis presents itself as a cloud-based HRMS for startups, small and midsize businesses, and larger organizations. Its public materials describe payroll, attendance, leave, onboarding and offboarding, recruitment, dashboards and MIS reporting, mobile access, GPS attendance, geofencing, and biometric-machine synchronization. See the vendor’s product overview and module descriptions.

Some functionality depends on plan. The vendor associates its higher-priced Enterprise tier with income-tax, TDS, and Form 16 functions, among other capabilities. Its site also promotes or labels some items as upcoming, including an AI-enabled chatbot, travel desk, food and catering, advanced training, and an AI skills matrix. Treat those as roadmap or promotional items unless Aegis confirms in writing that they are live and included in your proposed plan.

Aegis advertises India-oriented payroll and statutory features, but a feature label alone does not establish that every filing, state-specific rule, or compliance task is handled for your organization. Confirm the precise scope for your payroll setup.

What Ultimatix is—and who can use it

Ultimatix is a TCS-controlled employee portal and digital workplace ecosystem, not a public software-buyer landing page. Its official login page says access is restricted to TCS employees and affiliates. It shows authentication through options including EasyAuth, AuthCode, password, and TokenCode, and points users to the Ultimatix Authenticator and TCS helpdesk.

The TCS ecosystem links to employee services such as leave, travel, and learning. That does not establish that Ultimatix is licensable to another employer or that every function described on unofficial feature pages is available as a transferable product. The official public material does not show an external self-service signup, trial, public price list, or general implementation path.

Aegis and Ultimatix compared

Capability or buying question Aegis HRMS Ultimatix
Audience and purpose Presented as an HRMS for external organizations. TCS employee-services and digital workplace ecosystem for TCS employees and affiliates.
External purchase Public product, pricing, and inquiry paths are available. No public external purchase path established; official login is restricted to TCS employees and affiliates.
Public pricing ₹30, ₹60, and ₹120 per employee per month for listed general plans; ₹20 per user per month for FullSkape, according to the vendor pricing page. No public commercial price stated on the official login page.
Payroll Advertised; features vary by plan. Internal employee/payroll services may exist, but the external product scope is not publicly verified.
Attendance Office and field attendance advertised, including GPS, geofencing, and biometric synchronization. Internal employee services may exist; external HRMS functionality is not publicly verified.
Leave Advertised. The TCS login ecosystem links to a leave service; this does not establish an external product offering.
Recruitment Advertised on the product site. Not publicly verified as an externally configurable feature.
Learning Some learning capabilities are labeled upcoming or promotional; confirm availability. TCS employee learning services are associated with its internal ecosystem.
Travel and reimbursements May depend on plan or roadmap; confirm availability. TCS-specific employee services are linked from the ecosystem; external scope is not established.
APIs and integrations Public API documentation was not established in the reviewed sources. Public API documentation was not established in the reviewed sources.

This is not an apples-to-apples feature contest. Aegis is presented as a configurable product for organizations; Ultimatix is built around TCS’s own processes, identity systems, and employee workflows. Internal services visible in a TCS ecosystem should not be counted as features a buyer can license.

Aegis pricing: published plans and what to verify

The Aegis pricing page lists these rates. The vendor says prices are per employee or user per month, taxes are extra, and a minimum three-month subscription applies. These are vendor-published list-price signals, not independently audited total costs or a guaranteed quote.

Plan Published price Vendor positioning and described coverage
Basic ₹30 per employee per month Startups and growing enterprises; employee management, payroll, and manual attendance.
Intermediate ₹60 per employee per month Micro and small industry; leave, PF/ESIC, professional tax, gratuity, and attendance.
Enterprise ₹120 per employee per month Medium and large industry; compliance, operations, finance, income tax, Form 16, and TDS.
FullSkape ₹20 per user per month Education-focused plan for schools, colleges, and tuition organizations; confirm whether the functions you need include payroll or focus on student attendance and notifications.

The pricing page also claims cloud delivery, setup or onboarding support, possible add-ons, no hidden charges, and no lock-ins. Confirm the contract terms rather than treating those claims as a substitute for a written quote.

Questions to include in a quote request

  • Which people count as billable: all employees, contractors, inactive users, or field workers?
  • Are there implementation, data migration, biometric integration, or device charges?
  • Do SMS, WhatsApp, or email notifications incur usage fees?
  • Does the quoted price include payroll filing or compliance services, or only software calculations and records?
  • Which modules are live and included in the quoted tier, and which are add-ons or planned?
  • What support hours, escalation process, and response-time commitments apply, especially during payroll closure?
  • What are the data-export, cancellation, and deletion terms?

Which option fits your situation?

Small or midsize Indian business

Aegis is the relevant product to investigate if you want a public HRMS with Indian payroll, attendance, and leave functions and a visible starting price. Test whether its controls, audit history, integrations, and support are adequate for your organization; a low per-person price does not establish fit for complex workflows.

Field-heavy workforce

Aegis advertises GPS attendance and geofencing. Before relying on those functions, test location accuracy, behavior when GPS is unavailable or employees work outside approved zones, offline syncing, spoofing controls, battery impact, privacy notices, and how disputes are handled. Request the supported biometric-device list and confirm how punch errors and manual corrections are recorded.

School, college, or tuition organization

Ask Aegis whether FullSkape covers your actual use case, especially if you need payroll as well as student attendance or notifications. Do not infer payroll coverage from the plan name.

TCS employee or affiliate

Ultimatix is the relevant internal platform for authorized access to TCS employee services. For login problems, use the official portal’s authentication and helpdesk routes rather than treating it as an outside HRMS purchase.

Enterprise buyer seeking TCS technology

Compare Aegis with a commercial TCS offering or a TCS enterprise proposal, not with the restricted Ultimatix portal. TCS describes Cognitive HR as a modular platform spanning the hire-to-retire lifecycle, with capabilities including analytics, learning, employee engagement, recruitment, and payroll-related accuracy. Its cloud Cognitive HR page describes cloud-based HR automation. TCS iON’s HRMS brochure lists areas including organization setup, recruitment, employee maintenance, attendance, leave, benefits, performance appraisal, training, separation, reporting, alerts, and payroll integration. These are separate commercial offerings; their public materials do not make Ultimatix itself a product for sale.

What to test and verify before choosing an HRMS

Public Aegis materials are product descriptions rather than a complete technical manual. Independent reviews, benchmarks, uptime data, detailed security documentation, a public API reference, migration guidance, service-level commitments, and data-residency details were not established in the reviewed sources. Request evidence and test realistic workflows before committing.

Payroll, records, and auditability

  • Run a sample payroll through approval and finalization, including a policy change and correction after approval.
  • Check statutory deductions against your actual states, employee categories, and payroll calendar; confirm whether filing is included or handled separately.
  • Test leave accrual and carry-forward, employee transfers between departments or legal entities, duplicate records, and spreadsheet or legacy-system imports.
  • Ask whether payroll versioning, approval history, and attendance-correction logs are exportable and auditable.

Mobile attendance and integrations

  • Test duplicate or missed biometric punches, GPS loss, inaccurate locations, geofence edge cases, offline attendance, and delayed synchronization.
  • Ask which biometric devices are supported, how data is synchronized, and how failed transfers are detected and corrected.
  • Confirm current Android and iOS app availability and supported operating-system versions directly with the vendor.

Security, operations, and exit

  • Ask about hosting location, encryption, backups, role-based permissions, audit logs, incident response, retention, and deletion after termination.
  • Get support hours, escalation ownership, training arrangements, and payroll-year-end support in writing.
  • Verify that you can export employee, attendance, leave, and payroll records in usable formats before cancellation.

How to compare alternatives without mixing categories

If Aegis does not meet your requirements, alternatives to investigate include Zoho People, Keka, greytHR, RazorpayX Payroll, factoHR, ZingHR, HRone, and Zimyo. This is a shortlist, not a tested or ranked recommendation; compare current plan scope, payroll handling, implementation needs, and total cost directly.

For TCS-backed options, evaluate TCS iON HRMS or TCS Cognitive HR under their correct product names. The former’s published brochure describes a range of HRMS functions; the latter is positioned around modular, cloud-based HR capabilities and enterprise engagement. Neither should be conflated with Ultimatix, whose official public access page is for TCS employees and affiliates.
