But those operating results do not establish that AAMI shares are undervalued or that the market will assign them a higher valuation. The case is strongest on growth and cost leverage; the valuation case remains unproven without a comparable peer analysis.

What the latest results show
For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, announced July 30, Acadian reported record AUM, continued net inflows, higher management fees and sharply stronger ENI profitability. The figures below are from the company’s Q2 2026 release and presentation. Acadian’s Q2 2026 results
| Measure | Q2 2026 result | Comparison or context |
|---|---|---|
| AUM | $232.7 billion at June 30, 2026 | 54% above Q2 2025; increase reflected both market appreciation and net client flows |
| Net client cash flows | $4.3 billion for the quarter | Management described this as a 9% annualized organic growth rate and the tenth consecutive quarter of positive net flows |
| Management fees | $176.5 million | Record quarterly level, up 44% year over year |
| GAAP net income attributable to controlling interests | $27.3 million; diluted EPS of $0.76 | Net income up 170.3% year over year |
| ENI | $47.5 million; diluted EPS of $1.33 | ENI up 107.4% year over year |
| ENI operating margin | 40.3% | 30.7% in Q2 2025, an expansion of 959 basis points |
| GAAP operating margin | 17.5% | 12.7% in Q2 2025 |
ENI is a company-defined non-GAAP measure, not a substitute for GAAP earnings. The gap between the reported 40.3% ENI operating margin and 17.5% GAAP operating margin is material: investors should consider both rather than treating the adjusted measure as the entire picture.

How record AUM translates into earnings
Asset growth can support earnings because management fees are generally tied to the assets managed. In Q2 2026, Acadian’s record fees grew faster than its reported ENI operating expenses: fees rose 44% year over year while ENI operating expenses rose 19%. ENI operating earnings increased 92.4%, and the ENI operating margin widened from 30.7% to 40.3%.
The presentation attributed fee growth to a 66% increase in average AUM, driven by market appreciation and continued positive net client flows. Acadian said higher ENI management fees were the main reason for margin expansion. It also reported investment in technology and infrastructure and servicing costs that rise with AUM. The results therefore show cost leverage at the quarter’s scale, not that expenses have stopped growing or that the same margin improvement will continue.

GAAP tells a less dramatic earnings story than ENI. Acadian said non-cash expenses related to changes in the value of Acadian LLC equity and profit interests partially offset the GAAP earnings benefit in Q2. That distinction also appeared in the company’s full-year 2025 discussion: at the February 5, 2026 earnings call, management reported a 35.5% ENI margin and said 2025 GAAP net income attributable to controlling interests fell 6%, with EPS down 0.5%, citing higher non-cash expenses. The company reported gross leverage of 1x at year end 2025, down from 1.5x at the end of 2024. These are dated year-end figures, not a substitute for a current balance-sheet assessment. Are the AUM gains durable?
Acadian’s AUM was 54% higher year over year, but that figure combines market appreciation and client flows. The more direct evidence of client demand is the $4.3 billion of Q2 net inflows, which management said represented a 9% annualized organic growth rate. Enhanced and Extension strategies led those flows. Positive flows for ten consecutive quarters support the view that the firm has been winning or retaining business, but one quarter’s rate does not establish that inflows will persist.

The quarterly total also needs context: it was positive, but below the $21.4 billion of net inflows reported in Q1 2026. For 2025 as a whole, CEO Kelly-Ann Young said net client cash flows were approximately $29 billion and year-end AUM was nearly $178 billion. Acadian’s Q2 2026 earnings release
What Acadian’s performance figures do—and don’t—say
Acadian reported that 96% of its strategies by revenue beat their respective benchmarks over the 3-, 5- and 10-year periods as of June 30, 2026. That is a company-reported, strategy-by-revenue statistic; it is not the same as saying 96% of client assets outperformed net of fees.

A separate investor forum page reported that 93% of client assets outperformed benchmarks net of fees over the five years ended December 31, 2025. That calculation covered composites with at least five years of track record, excluded model and non-discretionary portfolios, and represented 81.6% of firm-wide discretionary AUM. The company also described a universe of more than 65,000 securities analyzed daily across asset classes. These figures offer context about the firm’s process and reported track records, but the performance measures have different dates, denominators and scopes. Past performance does not promise future results. Acadian investor forum

A re-rating means investors assign a higher valuation multiple to a company’s earnings or cash generation. Acadian’s results make a growth-and-operating-leverage argument plausible: fees rose, net flows remained positive, ENI margin expanded and the company reported long-term benchmark outperformance. They do not, on their own, show that AAMI trades below fair value or that a higher multiple is warranted.

ChartMill’s third-party market snapshot showed AAMI at $94.17 and 14.69 times forward earnings on October 2, 2026. Its model displayed an implied fair value of $77.72 and identified low model fit. Those are provider-specific figures and an output of one third-party framework, not an authoritative estimate of intrinsic value. ChartMill’s AAMI valuation snapshot
The available figures do not establish a same-date, like-for-like valuation comparison with named asset-management peers or with AAMI’s own historical multiples. Nor does the quoted forward P/E specify enough here to reconcile its earnings estimate with GAAP or ENI. Without those comparisons, a relative discount—and thus an undervaluation claim—has not been demonstrated.
A more complete valuation test would use a clearly stated earnings base and compare it consistently across the company, its history and a defined peer group. It would also distinguish recurring management fees from performance-related revenue, assess the split between market-driven AUM gains and organic flows, and account for the different GAAP and ENI pictures. Until that work supports a valuation gap, “re-rating” is a thesis to test, not a result established by record AUM.
