Time+Tide reported seven budget-watch pairings in July 2017, from Steve Jobs’s Seiko to Ashton Kutcher’s first-generation Motorola Moto 360. These are dated attributions—not confirmation of what the people wear today—and the list spans everyday digital watches, a sports tracker and a smartwatch.

What the list says about budget watches

Their shared point is that a prominent person can be associated with a functional, comparatively accessible watch rather than an expensive mechanical status piece; the list does not establish a current trend or verify that any of the seven still wears the model.
Historical prices need the same caution. Time+Tide’s 2017 article listed the F-91W at US$30 and the G-Shock at US$190, alongside the Polar V800’s US$390–438 listing. These are dated figures from that article, not present-day retail prices. Jobs’s reported US$42,500 sale is a separate 2016 auction result.

The F-91W is the clearest current product reference in the group. Casio’s official F-91W-1 page documents the model and says its design dates to the 1989 launch. It is a current documented model in the same family as the watch attributed to Feeney; it should not be confused with proof of Feeney’s specific watch or its age.
Casio lists a resin case and band, dimensions of 38.2 × 35.2 × 8.5 mm and a weight of 21 g. Listed functions include a daily alarm, hourly time signal, LED light, auto-calendar and 1/100-second stopwatch. Casio states approximately seven years of battery life from a CR2016 battery and describes the watch as water resistant without giving a depth rating on the cited page. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results.
