The $4.2 million figure in the original headline is rounded. Lotterywest says she plans to pay off her mortgage and take a holiday.
What happened
According to Lotterywest’s 29 July 2025 announcement, the winner lives in Perth’s southeast. The prize came from the previous weekend’s Saturday Lotto $30 million Megadraw. The announcement does not identify the draw number or give the Saturday draw’s exact date.
How she found out
The woman first bought a ticket for her adult son as a birthday present. She then had what she described as a “funny feeling” and bought a second ticket for herself.
She checked her ticket at a Harrisdale newsagent while shopping the next day. A store employee quietly told her she had won, but she waited to believe it until she went to Lotterywest to verify the result. The release says she did not sleep much that night.

What she said she plans to do with the prize
The winner told Lotterywest she planned to pay off her mortgage and take a holiday. These were her stated intentions at the time of the announcement, not confirmation that she had already taken either step.
How this win differs from other prizes mentioned
The same release also referred to a separate $1 million Millionaire Medley win at Riverton Forum Lottery Kiosk, describing it as Western Australia’s 49th Division One win of 2025. That was not the featured woman’s Saturday Lotto prize. Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender also said in the 29 July release that there had been eight Division One prizes since the start of July; that was a dated statement, not a current count.
