Yes—Microsoft 365 E7 is a real, current offering, not just a rumor. Microsoft announced its “Frontier Suite” on March 9, 2026, and says it became generally available on May 1, 2026. Microsoft’s announced U.S. price is $99 per user. For a business, though, the practical question is whether the bundle costs less than the specific licenses and capabilities its employees actually need.
What Microsoft 365 E7 includes
Microsoft describes E7 as a bundle of four products, with Work IQ serving as a shared intelligence layer:
- Microsoft 365 E5
- Microsoft 365 Copilot
- Microsoft Entra Suite
- Agent 365
Microsoft presents Agent 365 as a way to govern and scale agents. That makes E7 relevant not only to organizations seeking AI tools, but also to those evaluating how agents will be managed. The announcement establishes the bundle’s stated composition; it does not establish which features are enabled in a particular customer’s tenant or how an organization’s agents will perform.
How much does E7 cost?
Microsoft announced a U.S. price of $99 per user for E7. Its March 9, 2026 launch announcement also listed standalone Agent 365 at $15 per user. These are Microsoft-published announcement figures, not a quote for every customer. Microsoft says commercial prices can vary by country and currency, and a buyer’s actual cost may also depend on its agreement, discounts, licensing needs, and renewal timing.

Microsoft’s 2026 packaging and pricing FAQ says the E7 price is not changing as part of that update, while E5 packaging changes also apply to E7. The FAQ says broader commercial price updates took effect July 1, 2026, and describes packaging rollouts and customer notices. Check the current SKU, tenant, and licensing agreement rather than assuming every feature or change applies on the same date.
Does E7 save money compared with buying licenses separately?
Microsoft says E7 is priced below buying its included capabilities à la carte. That is Microsoft’s bundle-value claim, not proof that every organization will save money. A company that already owns some of the included entitlements—or does not need all of them—may reach a different result.
Microsoft’s CEO of Commercial Business, Judson Althoff, said: “At $99 per user, E7 is priced below purchasing these capabilities à la carte, giving customers a simpler, more cost-effective way to deploy enterprise AI at scale.” Treat the statement as Microsoft’s position on the bundle, not an independent, customer-specific savings calculation.
How to evaluate E7 against your current licenses
Compare the E7 quote with the cost of the licenses and capabilities your organization would actually use, for the same users and contract period. A useful evaluation should account for:

- Existing entitlements: Which users already have E5, Copilot, or Entra capabilities, and what would E7 replace?
- Actual need: Do those users need Copilot and Entra Suite capabilities, as well as E5?
- Agent plans: Is there a real deployment and governance requirement for Agent 365, or would it be an unused part of the bundle?
- Contract details: What agreement term, renewal date, discounts, or partner terms apply?
- Location and currency: What price applies to the customer’s country and currency?
Ask Microsoft or an authorized licensing partner for a quote based on the organization’s eligible licenses, users, and renewal terms. The available Microsoft announcements do not provide enough information to calculate savings or return on investment for a particular business.

Microsoft says E7 became generally available on May 1, 2026. Microsoft Learn’s April 1, 2026 partner announcement said Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) partners could transact E7 beginning May 1, with monthly, one-year, and three-year terms. That announcement also described planned one-year promotional offers; check current eligibility and terms rather than assuming an offer is still available.
For a finance or procurement team, the next step is to compare a current, customer-specific quote with the organization’s existing licensing and renewal plans—not to treat the announced list price or Microsoft’s bundle comparison as a guaranteed cost outcome.
