Reports identify Baroness Jane Fellowes, Lord Robert Fellowes’s wife, as the primary beneficiary of his estate. They describe the estate as worth about $2 million and say his will asked for estate income to support the wider family. The same reports say Prince William and Prince Harry were not direct beneficiaries; they do not establish that either prince received a specific inheritance.

Who was named as the main beneficiary?

Secondary reports published around May 2025 identify Baroness Jane Fellowes as the primary beneficiary of her husband’s estate. Lord Robert Fellowes was Prince William and Prince Harry’s maternal uncle. The underlying will was not independently reviewed, so these details should be understood as reported terms, not verified wording from the document. Yahoo News and AOL carried the reports.

Did Prince William or Prince Harry inherit money directly?

The reports say neither prince was a direct beneficiary. They also describe a request for estate income to support the wider family. That reported family-support provision does not establish that William or Harry received a particular sum, or that either was named for a direct bequest.

What does the reported $2 million figure mean?

The approximately $2 million figure is a secondary-media description of the estate’s value. The reports do not establish that it was a cash inheritance, explain how the value was calculated, or confirm it as a probate valuation. It should not be read as the amount transferred to Baroness Jane Fellowes or divided among relatives.

How can you check a will in England and Wales?

Probate gives legal authority to deal with a deceased person’s estate. For England and Wales, the official service lets users search probate records and order a copy of a record, including a will when one is included. GOV.UK says a new record is usually available online about 14 days after probate is issued; an online copy costs £16. Not every probate record includes a will, and the grant type matters. Search probate records for documents and wills (England and Wales).

This service concerns England and Wales; it should not be assumed to cover Scotland or Northern Ireland, which have separate processes.
