Pronto Pilates’ Dallas-area expansion is no longer just a plan: the company’s current studio directory lists a West Plano location in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. But the exact opening date is not established by the available sources, so it cannot be confirmed that the studio opened on the early-2025 schedule announced in 2024.
What Emma Shelton announced about Dallas
On October 17, 2024, PerthNow reported that Pronto Pilates co-founder Emma Shelton expected the company’s first U.S. studio to open in Dallas in early 2025. The report also said Shelton’s husband was due to visit Dallas to assess whether the expansion was feasible. These were plans at the time, not a confirmed opening announcement. PerthNow’s October 2024 report quoted Shelton describing the goal as “1000 studios by 2028”; that was an ambition, not a verified result.
What is known about Pronto’s Dallas-area presence now
Pronto’s current studio directory lists West Plano in the Dallas–Fort Worth area and Arboretum in Austin. This confirms a Dallas-area listing, but the directory does not establish when West Plano opened. The early-2025 target should therefore be read as a historical forecast, not a current opening date or proof that the schedule was met.
How Pronto’s “unmanned” Pilates model works
Pronto Pilates was founded in 2022 by Emma Shelton and Steve Anson. “Unmanned” describes the session format: there is no live instructor leading the class in the room. It does not mean the class content lacks professional instruction. Instructors design, choreograph and film the classes, which participants follow on screens in the studio. PerthNow described app-based booking and phone entry, with members wiping equipment after class.

What the funding and growth figures do—and do not—show
Business News Australia reported on November 18, 2024, that Pronto raised $1.64 million through equity crowdfunding, bringing in 488 new investors. It also reported the company’s ambition to reach 1,000 studios globally over the following four years. Those dated figures describe a fundraising round and a stated goal; they do not establish how many studios the company has since opened or whether it has reached the target. Business News Australia’s report also quoted Shelton saying more than 70 unique classes had been filmed for screen-based instruction.

What prospective members should weigh
The format may suit people who want to book a scheduled reformer session through an app and follow on-screen instruction without a live instructor in the room. People who rely on real-time observation, adjustments or individual guidance should factor in that difference when choosing a class. Pronto advertises an orientation for beginners, but that does not establish that every participant is supervised or that the format is suitable for every health condition.
Safety claims deserve particular care. PerthNow reported Shelton’s statement that members could move at their own pace and that Pronto had seen “next to none” in injuries compared with a studio she previously owned. The report does not provide the comparison’s methods, participant totals or independent verification. It is therefore a founder-reported comparison, not evidence that instructor-free Pilates reduces injury risk.
