What is confirmed about the divorce?
Kidman filed for divorce in Davidson County, Tennessee, in September 2025, citing irreconcilable differences, according to CBS News. A Nashville judge finalized the divorce in January 2026 after finding the agreements on assets and custody sufficient, the Associated Press reported.
The AP’s account of the court documents says the couple waived child and spousal support, divided jointly held assets roughly equally, and retained assets in their own names, including artistic copyrights and royalties. Their marriage lasted 19 years, according to the AP.
Did the prenup contain a “cocaine clause”?
That has not been established by the public court reporting cited here. A Blank Rome media-coverage page reproduces a comment by Lois J. Liberman, a partner in the firm’s Matrimonial and Family Law Group. Liberman refers to an “alleged provision” under which Urban would receive $600,000 for each year of marriage. The page reports commentary about a claim; it does not provide the prenup or confirm its terms.

Accordingly, the figure should not be treated as a verified contract term, and it does not prove that any money changed hands. The agreement’s conditions, operative period, and any payment are not established by the cited public reporting.
Did Keith Urban get $600,000 for every year he stayed sober?
The cited sources do not confirm that he did. The $600,000 amount is attributed to an alleged provision as described in Liberman’s comment; the evidence here does not establish that it was specifically payable for sobriety, that the provision appeared in the signed prenup, or that a payout occurred. It would therefore be misleading to multiply the alleged annual amount by the length of the marriage and present the result as a total.
What do the public divorce documents say about parenting and finances?
Parenting schedule
The reported parenting plan assigned 306 days per year to Kidman and 59 to Urban, according to the AP. The plan also says: “The mother and father will behave with each other and each child so as to provide a loving, stable, consistent and nurturing relationship with the child even though they are divorced.”
Support and property
As reported by the AP, the documents waived child and spousal support and provided for a roughly equal division of jointly held assets, while each person kept assets in their own name, including artistic copyrights and royalties. These are terms described in public divorce reporting; they do not verify the contents of a separate private prenup.

Does the alleged clause explain the split?
No such connection is established in the cited sources. Kidman’s filing stated irreconcilable differences as the reason for divorce. The reporting about the alleged clause does not establish that drug use caused the separation or that the clause played a role in the divorce.
