Is PS Plus Premium on sale now?
Sony’s Days of Play 2026 promotion ended June 10. Its announcement described savings of up to 33% on a 12-month membership for eligible new members in participating countries. Current Essential or Extra members could receive 33% off the remaining membership period when upgrading to Premium or Deluxe during the promotion. Sony’s announcement does not establish whether a particular account or local PlayStation Store has a separate targeted offer on October 8. Check the price shown while signed in to your own regional store before purchasing; do not treat the expired Days of Play discount as a current checkout price.
How much is a 12-month PS Plus Premium subscription?
On Sony’s US plan page, accessed October 8, 2026, Premium is listed at $159.99 for 12 months, $54.99 for three months and $19.99 for one month. Sony describes the annual plan as 33% less than twelve monthly payments. These are US prices, not a universal price list; check your local store for its currency and rates. The 12-month totals for shorter billing terms are arithmetic based on Sony’s listed US prices, assuming the same rates apply for every payment and no promotion changes them. Actual future charges can differ if Sony changes its prices or your offer terms.
Does the discount apply to existing members?
For the expired Days of Play offer, Sony said eligible new members could save up to 33% on a 12-month membership. Existing Essential or Extra members could save 33% on the remaining membership period when upgrading to Premium or Deluxe. That is an upgrade discount on the remaining term, not a statement that every existing Premium member could buy another discounted year. Country, tier and account eligibility varied.

What does Premium add, and is it worth the price?
Premium includes core PlayStation Plus benefits plus the Game Catalog, Classics Catalog, Game Trials and cloud streaming, according to Sony’s US plan page. Catalog games and service availability can change, and access depends on factors including region, platform, device, account settings and subscription tier. Check the current local plan page and catalog rather than assuming a particular game or feature will be available to you. Sony’s plan details and PS Plus usage terms describe these conditions.
When Premium may justify the extra cost
- You expect to use its Classics Catalog, Game Trials or cloud streaming, and those features are available on your device and in your region.
- The games you want are currently in the Game Catalog, and you expect to play enough of them during your membership to make the tier worthwhile.
When a lower tier may be a better fit
- You mainly want core PS Plus benefits and do not expect to use Premium’s additional catalog, trial or streaming features.
- You are comparing a temporary promotional price with a recurring subscription: calculate the cost after the offer ends, not just the initial charge.
Will the discounted price continue when the subscription renews?
No. Sony’s subscription terms say a promotion discount applies to the initial purchase price only; subsequent recurring fees use the then-current regular PlayStation Store price. Sony’s UK usage terms put it this way: “If a promotion offers you a discount on your subscription, that discount will apply to the initial purchase price only.” Renewal frequency and pricing depend on the subscription and offer terms. How to turn off PS Plus auto-renewal
On PS5, Sony lists this route to subscription controls:
- Open Settings.
- Select Users and Accounts.
- Select Account, then Payment and Subscriptions.
- Select Subscriptions and choose the subscription controls shown for your account.
Sony says cancellation stops future payments, while access continues through the period already paid. Check the account’s subscription screen for its renewal date and status; available labels or steps may differ by platform or region. The usage terms explain recurring fees and cancellation.

Is there a separate PS5 promotion in October 2026?
Sony’s US terms describe a different offer scheduled for October 10–21, 2026: eligible people who buy and activate a new PS5 or PS5 Pro can claim three months of Premium. It is a console-purchase promotion, not a discounted 12-month subscription. The published terms require participants to be at least 18 and have a US-registered PSN account. New subscribers must claim by October 25; existing subscribers receive a console notification and must redeem by October 30. New subscribers’ membership auto-renews every three months at the then-current price after the included term unless cancelled. Eligibility, redemption steps and treatment for existing subscribers differ, and the offer is limited to one claim per user, non-transferable and not combinable.
