The National Bank of Pakistan’s (NBP) FX Rates Sheet dated Thursday, October 8, 2026, lists the US dollar at PKR 277.40 selling and PKR 276.90 buying for ready transactions (TT). For cash or currency notes, it lists PKR 278.79 selling and PKR 275.79 buying. The relevant USD to PKR figure depends on the rate category and whether you are buying or selling.
These are dated, market-indicative reference rates, not guaranteed quotes for every customer or transaction. Check NBP’s rate-sheet archive for the latest dated sheet and contact NBP for a transaction quote.

All figures below are Pakistani rupees per US dollar, from NBP’s FX Rates Sheet dated Thursday, October 8, 2026.

Buying and selling are from the bank’s perspective: the buying rate is the rate at which NBP buys foreign currency, while the selling rate is the rate at which it sells it. The sheet lists separate values for ready TT transactions and cash or currency notes, so choose the category that matches the transaction rather than treating one figure as a universal USD to PKR rate.

Other foreign exchange rates
NBP’s October 8, 2026 sheet also lists ready transaction TT buying and selling rates for currencies including EUR, JPY, GBP, CHF, CAD, AUD, SEK, NOK, DKK, SGD, HKD, KRW, CNY, AED, SAR and KWD. Check the dated sheet for the exact figures and applicable side; rates are specific to the currency and buying or selling direction.
The sheet marks NZD, MYR, THB, QAR and KWD with an asterisk and says these currencies are not available to NBP customers. It directs customers to contact Treasury Sales for more details. For Chinese Yuan transactions, it specifically directs customers to contact the Treasury Sales Desk.

Indicative USD forward tenor rates
NBP separately publishes indicative FBP rates for USD by tenor. These are not the ready transaction TT or cash-note rates above.

What NBP’s rate-sheet caveats mean
NBP states: “Unless otherwise specifically stated, the given rates are market indicative and subject to change without prior notice.” It also says the rates are not valid for transactions above USD 5,000 or the equivalent amount in other currencies, on a cumulative basis. For larger transactions, NBP asks customers to call its Treasury Sales Desk.
NBP says it captures rates from sources it believes reliable and disclaims liability for consequences arising from use of the rates. Treat the figures as a dated reference, not a guaranteed rate for every customer, channel, provider or transaction. Confirm the applicable rate and terms with NBP before transacting.

How to use an NBP exchange rate
- Match the category: distinguish ready TT, cash/currency notes and indicative FBP tenor rates.
- Check the direction: use the buying or selling figure that applies to your transaction.
- Confirm the date: rates can change; compare figures from the same dated sheet.
- Check amount and availability: the sheet’s USD 5,000 cumulative limit and currency availability notes affect whether a listed rate applies.
- Get a transaction quote: contact NBP, especially for larger transactions or currencies directed to Treasury Sales.
