The often-cited figures measure different things—market capitalization snapshots and a separately reported one-hour move—so they cannot establish that headline return without a defined price source and start and end times.
What Binance announced—and when
Binance announced the PNUT/USDT spot pair for November 11, 2024, at 10:00 UTC and applied its Seed Tag to the token. The listing notice also gave a Solana contract address for Peanut the Squirrel (PNUT). Binance’s listing announcement is the primary source for those scheduled details.
Binance’s follow-up announcement described additional historical availability through Simple Earn, Buy Crypto, Convert and Margin. It also scheduled a PNUTUSDT perpetual contract on Binance Futures for 12:30 UTC that day, with up to 75x leverage. What the reported rally figures actually measure
Market capitalization snapshots
Crypto Briefing, citing CoinGecko, reported that PNUT’s market capitalization was about $128 million before the Binance listing announcement and about $1.3 billion on November 13, 2024. These are two reported market-cap snapshots. They are not a direct calculation of the token’s price return over a specified interval. Market capitalization and token price are distinct metrics, and the report does not supply aligned start and end prices for calculating the headline percentage. A separately reported one-hour move
A Binance Square post relaying Dex Screener data reported a brief price of 0.28 USDT and a 141.15% move over one hour after the news, alongside market capitalization rising from $100 million to $362 million. The post does not give exact sampling timestamps or methodology, so these figures are secondary reporting rather than a reproducible measurement of the full announcement-to-listing return. The reports refer to different measures and windows. Neither the capitalization comparison nor the one-hour report, by itself, verifies that PNUT’s price gained more than 300% because of the Binance listing.

How to assess the “over 300%” claim
A price-return claim needs a clearly defined interval and comparable observations. To check one, specify:
- The metric: PNUT token price, not market capitalization or trading volume.
- The quote currency and venue: for example, the PNUT/USDT spot market on Binance, rather than an unspecified exchange or aggregate.
- The exact start and end timestamps: distinguish the listing announcement from spot trading opening at 10:00 UTC on November 11, 2024.
- The data source and calculation: use the same provider and market for both endpoints, and calculate the change from those prices.
The available reports do not provide aligned price-series data for that calculation. Without those details, “over 300%” should be treated as an unverified headline claim, not a confirmed return. This does not rule out that a particular venue or chosen interval showed such a move; it means the cited figures do not establish it.

What PNUT is, and what the historical risk notice said
Kraken’s UK crypto-asset statement describes PNUT as a community-owned and managed meme token deployed on Solana. It says an anonymous user created the token on pump.fun and the community took it over on November 7, 2024. Kraken’s UK crypto-asset statement, dated November 21, 2024
That statement lists risks including short history, volatility, liquidity, demand, forking, code defects, cryptography, regulation, concentration, electronic trading and cybersecurity. These are risks identified in that historical UK statement; it is not a current assessment of PNUT’s market conditions. Binance’s Seed Tag was likewise a designation in its 2024 listing notice, not proof of present risk classification or current trading availability. The sources cited here do not provide a current PNUT price, market capitalization, liquidity level or listing status.
