Sometimes, for casual wear and shorter walks—but the claim that NORTIV 8 sneakers are just as comfortable as HOKAs is not established across models or activities. In the clearest named-model comparison, the women’s NORTIV 8 ActiveBreeze felt comfortable for lighter walking, while the HOKA Clifton 10 offered more cushioning and left the reviewer less fatigued after long walking days. Comfort also depends on how a shoe fits your foot and what you plan to do in it.
What the direct comparison found
The Disney Food Blog compared the women’s NORTIV 8 ActiveBreeze with the HOKA Clifton 10 during walking at Disney World. The reviewer found both wearable, but gave the Clifton 10 the advantage for extended days: it felt more cushioned, transitioned more smoothly from heel to toe, and caused less end-of-day fatigue. This is one reviewer’s experience with two specific models, not a controlled test or a verdict on every shoe from either brand. It does not establish how the ActiveBreeze compares with other HOKA models, such as the Bondi or Speedgoat.
How the shoes differ in fit and feel
NORTIV 8 ActiveBreeze
Tom’s Guide reviewer Millie Davis-Williams said she wore the ActiveBreeze for walking and commuting and found it soft and comfortable on longer walks. NORTIV 8 lists a breathable mesh upper, EVA midsole, and rubber outsole on its ActiveFloat product page. The brand says the high-bounce EVA midsole absorbs shock up to 46 joules; the page does not provide a test method or independent verification, so that figure is a manufacturer claim—not evidence that the shoe matches HOKA cushioning. HOKA Clifton 10
In the Disney Food Blog comparison, the Clifton 10’s practical edge was not simply initial softness: the reviewer described more cushioning, a smoother heel-to-toe transition, and less fatigue over a long day. Those observations are specific to that comparison and do not establish a universal result for every wearer.

Fit can outweigh softness
Outside’s separate comparison describes similar rebound and comparable comfort and stability impressions in its testing, but says the NORTIV 8 felt less tailored through the midfoot and heel than the HOKA. It characterizes HOKA’s fit as more precise. Outside also describes the NORTIV 8 upper as a less expensive, non-custom perforated material and the HOKA upper as more complex and foot-hugging. Outside quotes board-certified foot surgeon Dr. Daughtry saying, “Budget shoes don’t have to be poor quality,” but that general point does not mean two shoes will fit the same foot equally well. Consider toe-box space, heel hold, and midfoot support alongside cushioning.

Which one makes sense for your use?
- Errands, commuting, or lighter walks: ActiveBreeze has favorable anecdotal evidence for casual comfort. Check that the heel and midfoot feel secure and that your toes are not pushed forward.
- Long days on your feet: The named comparison favors the Clifton 10 for cushioning, smoother transition, and less reported fatigue. That is a reviewer’s result, not a guarantee for every wearer.
- Running or a specific foot-fit need: The available comparisons do not establish a universal winner. Try the exact model for the intended activity, paying attention to fit and gait as well as softness; Outside notes that shoe choice should reflect foot shape, training goals, and gait.
Price and value depend on the current listing
Tom’s Guide listed U.S. Amazon prices of $69 for the women’s ActiveBreeze and $59 for the men’s version, and £32 for the women’s shoe in the U.K., in its July 30, 2026 review. These are publication-date listing prices, not guaranteed current or recurring prices; check the retailer listing for the price, sizes, and colors available now. Lower cost may make NORTIV 8 worth considering for everyday walking, but price alone cannot establish equivalent comfort or durability.

- Choose the exact model and version you intend to wear. The direct long-walking comparison is the women’s ActiveBreeze versus the Clifton 10; it should not be generalized to other NORTIV 8 or HOKA models.
- Try both shoes with your usual socks and walk long enough to notice heel slip, toe pressure, and whether your foot shifts forward.
- Match the trial to your actual use. A brief indoor try-on may not reveal discomfort that appears after several hours or during running.
- Compare fit and end-of-day comfort, not just the first impression of softness. If the ActiveBreeze pushes your foot toward the toe box or feels loose through the heel or midfoot, a lower price may not make it the better choice for you.
