Verizon planned to remove One America News Network (OAN) from Fios on July 31, 2022, after the companies failed to reach a carriage agreement. OAN then urged viewers to ask Comcast and Charter Spectrum to carry it. That appeal described the situation at the time; later reporting documented new distribution deals, so the 2022 headline does not describe the entire subsequent story.
Why did Verizon drop OAN?
Verizon said the Fios channel would be removed effective July 31, 2022, because the parties had not reached an agreement. In a statement reported by CBS News on July 22, 2022, Verizon characterized the talks this way: “These negotiations were focused on economics, as they always are, but OAN failed to agree to fair terms.”
That was Verizon’s account of the negotiations, not an independently established explanation of what happened in private. The contemporaneous Ars Technica report likewise described a failed agreement and Verizon’s economic rationale.
What did OAN ask Comcast and Charter viewers to do?
OAN encouraged viewers to call Comcast and Charter Spectrum and request that the providers add the network. Ars Technica reported at the time that OAN had tried for years to secure carriage on both services, which did not carry it then. The appeal was a request to customers to press their providers; it did not mean Comcast or Charter had agreed to distribute OAN.

How did OAN’s distribution change after 2022?
A later account shows that the 2022 situation did not remain unchanged. Cablefax Daily reported on August 27, 2025 that OAN launched on DISH in January 2025 and signed a multi-year carriage deal with Charter in May 2025 for Spectrum TV Select and TV Stream plans.

Does Comcast or Charter carry OAN now?
The sources establish that Charter later signed a deal covering Spectrum TV Select and TV Stream, but they do not verify the complete provider lineup or availability for a particular customer as of October 8, 2026. The 2025 Cablefax report described a YouTube TV launch as expected, not confirmed. It does not establish that the launch happened.

Availability can depend on the package and service area, and the dated reports above do not settle those customer-specific details. The 2022 appeal to Comcast customers should not be read as evidence that Comcast subsequently added OAN.
