A single player won the reported $40 million Division One prize in an Australian Powerball draw reported on March 14, 2024. PerthNow said the winner was a New South Wales man who came forward to claim the prize; the article did not publish his name.
What were the winning numbers?
PerthNow reported the draw numbers as 5, 15, 24, 27, 30, 32 and 35, with Powerball 2. The report did not establish the official draw number, so this result is identified here by its publication date rather than a draw number.
Who won the $40 million prize?
PerthNow said one player won the entire reported $40 million Division One prize by matching all seven main numbers and the Powerball. It later reported that a New South Wales man came forward to claim the top prize, but did not identify him by name.
The article attributed these comments to the unnamed winner, speaking to The Lott: “Mate, I haven’t slept! I saw the win last night and thought I was losing it!” He also said: “The first thing that came to my head last night was, ‘I’m mortgage-free’.” These are quotes as reported by PerthNow, not independently recorded statements.
