The OPSC AEE 2024 application window is closed. The advertised 19–26 February 2024 dates are historical, and the widely reported 928-post figure was temporary: OPSC withdrew the extra 348 Civil posts and reaffirmed 580 Civil plus 41 Mechanical vacancies, 621 in total. A limited application reopening followed in 2025; it was not a general reopening. OPSC’s current AEE Civil recruitment is a separate 2026–27 advertisement.

When was the OPSC AEE 2024 registration window?

OPSC scheduled online applications for 19–26 February 2024 in a fourth corrigendum to Advertisement No. 19 of 2023–24. That window has long since closed. The advertisement, published on 28 December 2023, covered Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) Civil and Mechanical posts in Group A of the Odisha Engineering Service under the Water Resources Department. The fourth-corrigendum notice reproduced by FreeJobAlert gives the February dates; it is not hosted on OPSC’s website.

What happened to the 928 vacancies?

The 928 total was a temporary figure in the 17 February 2024 corrigendum, not the lasting vacancy count. OPSC had added 348 Civil posts to the 580 Civil vacancies in the original advertisement, bringing the reported total to 928, including 309 posts for women. The corrigendum’s category breakdown was 486 UR, 116 SEBC, 190 SC and 136 ST. On 6 May 2024, after a High Court order and communication from the Water Resources Department, OPSC withdrew the additional 348 Civil posts.

OPSC’s later clarification reaffirmed the original totals: 580 Civil and 41 Mechanical vacancies, or 621 combined. OPSC’s clarification and recruitment notice record is the relevant official reference for the withdrawal and reinstated counts.

Was there another application window?

Yes, but it was limited and took place in 2025. OPSC set 22 April–8 May 2025 for specified eligible fresh applicants under court orders. The clarification also addressed existing applicants eligible to enter or update qualifying GATE score details. It was not a general extension for anyone who had missed the 2024 window.

For those eligible fresh applicants, the later notice tied age and educational qualification requirements to the original deadline of 26 February 2024. The relevant GATE paper had to match the discipline: Civil Engineering for Civil posts or Mechanical Engineering for Mechanical posts; equivalent GATE subjects were not accepted in the reproduced corrigendum text. The reproduced 2025 clarification describes the special reopening and its conditions.

What were the disciplines, qualifications and selection method?

The recruitment distinguished Civil and Mechanical posts by engineering qualification and matching GATE paper. The original advertisement placed Civil posts across the Water Resources, Works, and Housing & Urban Development departments; Mechanical posts were under Water Resources. The stated selection weighting was 90% GATE score and 10% interview. OPSC’s recruitment clarification contains the subject-specific GATE requirement and selection details.

Contemporary coverage of the original notice described an age range of 21–38 years as of the applicable cutoff, matching-subject engineering degrees or equivalent qualifications, and an application-fee exemption. Those are details of the historical notice, not current eligibility rules; candidates should consult the relevant original notice and corrigenda rather than carry them over to a later recruitment.

What is the latest status of the Civil and Mechanical recruitment?

OPSC listed the Mechanical final result and recommendation for appointment on 26 September 2025. For Civil, OPSC listed a rescheduled document-verification and interview notice dated 25 August 2025. That record establishes the interview/document-verification stage, but does not establish a final Civil result. Check OPSC’s official website for the authoritative notice list and subsequent updates.

Is the OPSC AEE Civil recruitment listed now the same one?

No. As of 8 October 2026, OPSC’s homepage lists an AEE Civil recruitment under Advertisement 07 of 2026–27. It is separate from the 2023–24 advertisement discussed here. Applicants interested in the current recruitment should use its own notice and dates, not the closed 2024 schedule or the 2025 limited reopening.
