What was the OSSC CTSRE-2023 notification?
The Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) issued Advertisement No. IIE-49/2023/4812/OSSC on 8 December 2023 for the Combined Technical Services Recruitment Examination (CTSRE)-2023. It covered Group-B and Group-C services under Odisha government departments and Heads of Departments. Was the December 20 application date postponed?
Yes. The original schedule gave 20 December 2023 as the online registration opening date and 19 January 2024 as its closing date. OSSC subsequently issued notice No. IIE-49/2023/5021 on 20 December, stating that activation would move to 22 December “due to certain technical issues.” The revised dates were: OSSC revised schedule notice.

Which posts and eligibility requirements did the notice cover?
The advertised technical roles included junior engineering and mining-related posts, tracer, laboratory assistant, and laboratory attendant positions. Qualifications varied by post and included relevant engineering diplomas or trade credentials. The advertisement also set out general eligibility requirements, including Indian citizenship and Odia language ability, alongside role-specific criteria. For any historical eligibility check, use the detailed advertisement rather than inferring a requirement from a post title.
How many vacancies were reported?
Scroll reported that the recruitment aimed to fill 430 vacancies and gave an age range of 21–38 years as of 1 January 2023. The detailed advertisement reserved the commission’s ability to change vacancy numbers and related conditions, so 430 should be treated as a contemporaneous reported figure, not a confirmed final count.
