NOA Bridal’s North Perth boutique closed in 2024, and in July the owner told customers the business could no longer deliver their ordered gowns. Contemporary reports attributed the collapse to heavy company and personal debt, and described brides who had paid deposits or the full price. They did not establish whether customers ultimately received refunds or gowns.
What happened at NOA Bridal?
PerthNow reported on 24 July 2024 that owner Elizabeth Lyndon-James emailed customers on 23 July to say NOA Bridal could no longer fulfil its obligation to deliver their dresses. The Fitzgerald Street boutique’s website and social accounts were reported shut, and the business was described online as permanently closed. PerthNow’s report reproduced the email.
7NEWS reported that the boutique’s doors had closed in April. Customers who had already paid deposits were initially told their dresses would still arrive, but were later told the orders would not be fulfilled. The outlet published its report on 24 July and updated it on 25 July 2024. 7NEWS’s report includes customer accounts.
In the email, Lyndon-James said she had “fought hard to keep the store running,” going “heavily into both company and personal debt,” but had reached a point where no further options or resources were available. She also apologised for failing to deliver on the promises made to customers. These are statements from the owner’s email as reported by PerthNow, not an independent accounting of the company’s finances.

What did customers report losing?
7NEWS said more than 40 Perth brides were left in limbo and that liquidators had fielded 40 calls from brides. Those are figures reported by the outlet at the time, not a verified final count of affected customers.
PerthNow reported customer claims of losing up to $8,000 in deposits. That was the upper amount cited in customer accounts, not a typical or average loss. 7NEWS also reported an individual case in which a customer who had paid in full said the designer making her dress had received nothing, leaving her facing the possibility of paying again. The outlet quoted another bride unsure what alternatives she would have if she received neither her dress nor a refund.

The reports said brands stocked by the boutique offered to try to help affected brides. They do not establish which customers received assistance, gowns, or money.
Did customers get refunds?
The July 2024 reporting did not establish a final repayment outcome. PerthNow quoted Andrew Bell of the Bankruptcy Advisory Centre saying it could take “six to 12 months” to determine whether customers might recover money. 7NEWS reported that liquidators considered recovery unlikely. Both were assessments reported at the time; neither confirms what ultimately happened.

If you paid NOA Bridal and are still seeking clarity, use the official insolvency notices search to look for case-specific notices and administrator contact details. A liquidator’s report, if available, may explain whether a creditor dividend is considered likely and what steps are being taken. The material available in the July 2024 reports does not establish a final NOA Bridal notice, report, or customer distribution.

Customers still needing a gown also face a separate practical problem: finding a replacement that can be delivered and fitted before the wedding. The reports described brides scrambling for alternatives, but do not document outcomes or endorse a particular seller. When assessing a replacement, check delivery timing, alteration needs, total cost, return terms, and whether the seller can meet the wedding date.
