There is no verified NFL-wide salary figure for cheerleaders. Pay practices differ by team, and current team audition materials often describe paid duties without disclosing the rate. Some teams say members are paid hourly; the Atlanta Falcons describe a fee for regular-season home games plus compensation for practices and possible paid appearances.
How NFL cheerleader pay is structured
Current team disclosures show more than one pay method, and none of the four examples below publishes its actual rate. The pay descriptions also cover work beyond game day, so a per-game number alone may not capture all compensation.

These are examples, not a complete league survey. They establish that required work can include practices and appearances, but they do not establish a uniform employment status, timekeeping policy or rate across NFL teams.

The figures cannot be combined into a meaningful national average: they refer to different teams, years and measures, and some are historical allegations rather than confirmed current pay. The 2025 Dallas report confirms the percentage increase but does not disclose the resulting dollar rate.

Why an annual salary or per-game comparison is hard to establish
An annual total requires a known rate and a comparable count of paid hours or events. The current team pages cited here do not provide the rates, and their compensation descriptions cover different duties. A per-game figure may omit paid practice time or appearances, while an hourly arrangement depends on how many required hours are paid.
- Compare the same team and season, rather than treating older reports as current.
- Check whether pay is hourly, per game, or a combination.
- Identify which required duties are paid, including practices, appearances and events.
- Look for the hours or events included and whether appearances are compensated separately.
How historical wage disputes fit the picture
Wage claims brought attention to whether teams paid for required rehearsals, promotional work, photo shoots and event attendance as well as game appearances. TIME’s 2014 account described claims involving the Raiders and Bengals and contrasted them with the Seahawks’ reported minimum-wage and overtime practices at the time. Those are historical examples, not evidence of current policies across the league.

One current official example of the hourly approach is the Saints’ 2026–27 audition FAQ, which says members are seasonal, part-time employees paid hourly for required work duties. That statement describes the Saints’ terms, not a leaguewide rule.
