How the boutique differed from the former King Street store
PerthNow described the new boutique as a 700-square-metre space designed by Peter Marino, almost three times the size of Chanel’s previous King Street location. Those are figures reported in 2022, not independently verified current measurements.
At opening, the store was presented as an Australian-first combined fashion and beauty boutique. The ground floor held bags, shoes, small leather goods and jewellery, while runway clothing was displayed on the first floor. PerthNow also reported that customers could use mobile devices to personalize change-room airflow, music and lighting, describing this feature as unique to the Australian location at that time. The report does not establish whether that feature remains available.

Raine Square’s place in Perth luxury retail
The 2022 PerthNow report framed Chanel’s move as part of a broader shift of luxury retailers from King Street into Raine Square, naming Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co., Kailis Jewellery and Watches of Switzerland.
