To find the latest NBP foreign currency rates for a Friday, check the National Bank of Poland’s official exchange-rate table and confirm its date. Table A lists average rates; Table C lists buy and sell rates. No Friday date or verified rate values are established here, so specific figures should not be reported without checking the dated NBP release.
Which NBP exchange-rate table should you use?
Start with the table type that matches the rate you need. NBP publishes separate tables, and their figures are not interchangeable.
| Table | What it reports | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Table A | Average rates | General reference rates for currencies listed in the table |
| Table B | Average rates | Average rates for currencies listed in that table |
| Table C | Buy and sell rates | NBP purchase and sale quotations, shown as Bid and Ask in the API |
For a headline about average exchange rates, Table A is the natural starting point. NBP’s exchange-rate hub links to current tables, archives, charts, publication timing information and the Web API.
How to verify the Friday rate and date
- Open the NBP exchange-rate hub and choose the current Table A if you need average rates. Choose Table C instead if you need buy and sell quotations.
- Check the table’s publication date. “Friday” alone does not identify a particular release, and the date should not be inferred from the headline.
- Find the currency code and unit in the official table, then report the value in the same form NBP uses. For Tables A and B, the average-rate field is called Mid in the API; Table C uses Bid and Ask.
- Verify the value against the dated official table immediately before publication. If the headline refers to an earlier Friday, use the archive or request the dated table through the API.
In the Web API, the response’s EffectiveDate identifies the table’s publication date. A date-specific query can retrieve a table published on a particular date. NBP’s API documentation describes the available fields and query options.

Finding an older Friday’s table
NBP documents historical exchange-rate coverage beginning on 2 January 2002. A single API query cannot cover more than 93 days, so split a longer search into shorter date ranges. Check the returned EffectiveDate to ensure the table corresponds to the Friday you intend to report.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why the date and table type matter
A Friday label does not establish which calendar date is meant, and average rates are not the same as buy and sell rates. A useful rate report identifies the NBP table, publication date, currency code, quoted unit and value together. Without a dated official row, a numerical rate cannot be verified.
