NABARD’s 2023–24 specialist recruitment offered 31 contract posts, but the official application deadline was March 10, 2024—not March 17. The application window is closed. The recruitment was for specialist roles at the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development’s Head Office in Mumbai, and it was separate from NABARD Grade A examinations.

What the 2024 NABARD specialist recruitment offered

NABARD Advertisement No. 05, “Engagement of Specialists on Contract – 2023–2024,” invited Indian citizens to apply online for 31 positions at its Head Office in Mumbai. The roster covered 22 position categories across technology, risk, economics, credit, legal work, data, business analysis and financial inclusion. The vacancy count and post details are in NABARD’s official advertisement.

Roles included Chief Technology Officer; Project Manager—Application Management; Lead Auditor; risk-management, cyber and network security specialists; Database and Operating Systems Specialist; IT Infrastructure & Banking Specialist; Economist; Credit Officer; Legal Officer; ETL Developer; Data Consultant; Business Analyst; Power BI Report Developer; Specialist—Data Management; and technical and banking Financial Inclusion Consultants. These were different jobs with different criteria, not 31 interchangeable vacancies.

Application deadline: March 10, not March 17

The official advertisement set the online registration and fee-payment period from February 17 through March 10, 2024. A Scroll report published February 27 used March 17 in its headline and opening text, but that date conflicts with NABARD’s notice. No later extension for this recruitment is established by the cited sources, so March 17 should not be treated as the official deadline.

As of October 2026, this is a historical recruitment, not an open application. NABARD’s Career Notices archive includes later selected and waitlisted candidate notices for posts in the specialist drive. For current vacancies, check the live career notices and the advertisement for the specific opening.

Eligibility depended on the specific post

NABARD assessed eligibility as of January 1, 2024. Education or professional qualifications, post-qualification experience and maximum age varied by role. The notice cautioned applicants to review the criteria for their chosen position; eligibility could be verified at interview or joining, and false or incorrect information could lead to cancellation.

Age limits were not uniform. For example, the advertisement specified a maximum age of 62 for the Chief Technology Officer and project manager positions, while the Financial Inclusion Consultant—Banking listing set a maximum age of 55. Applicants had to use the detailed entry for the individual post rather than assume one age or qualification rule applied across the recruitment.

For a post-by-post assessment, compare the required degree or professional qualification, relevant experience, age limit on the stated cutoff date, duties and any credentials described as desirable. The advertisement identifies credentials such as PMP or PRINCE2 for the project-management role and security or risk credentials for certain specialist positions; these do not apply to every vacancy.

How selection worked

NABARD said candidates would be shortlisted for interview in a 1:10 ratio based on qualifications, experience and related criteria. The notice does not establish a common written examination for this contract recruitment. It also reserved the Bank’s right to change or cancel the recruitment in line with institutional requirements.

This specialist contract process should not be confused with separate NABARD Grade A recruitment examinations. The posts, employment terms and selection process were distinct.

What the closed application required

Applications were accepted online through NABARD’s website during the 2024 window, with an online fee. The notice’s preparation instructions included a scanned photograph, signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration, along with supporting documents relevant to the application. These were instructions for that closed process, not requirements for applying to a current NABARD vacancy; follow the current advertisement for any later opening.
