Yes—you can move Avios between some airline loyalty programmes, but only when the specific accounts and transfer route are supported. Each programme keeps a separate balance, so Avios are not shared automatically; you must link eligible accounts and make the transfer yourself.
Which Avios programmes can you transfer between?
The British Airways Club lists transfers between its account and Iberia Club, AerClub, Loganair Loyalty, Vueling Club, Qatar Airways Privilege Club and Finnair Plus. British Airways says Avios keep the same value when moved between these accounts. Check the British Airways transfer instructions for the supported routes and current process.
That list does not mean every pair of Avios programmes can transfer directly. Finnair, for example, says members can link Finnair Plus with British Airways Club, Iberia Plus, AerClub and Vueling Club, but not with Qatar Airways Privilege Club or Loganair Loyalty. A shared currency is not a guarantee of a direct transfer route. See Finnair’s transfer guidance and verify the exact origin-and-destination pair before acting.
How to transfer Avios between your own accounts
Using The British Airways Club
- Sign in to The British Airways Club and open its Avios transfer page.
- Select the account Avios will come from and the account that will receive them.
- Link the frequent-flyer accounts if they are not already linked.
- Enter the amount, check the direction and destination, then confirm.
British Airways says transfers between the listed linked programmes are immediate and can be made as often as members like. Its page gives separate linking instructions for Qatar Airways Privilege Club and Finnair Plus: connect the relevant account with The British Airways Club account, choose the direction and amount, then confirm.

Using Finnair Plus
- Sign in to Finnair Plus and link the eligible loyalty accounts.
- Choose which account sends Avios and which receives them.
- Enter the amount and confirm the transfer.
Finnair says transfers are almost instant. It requires two-factor authentication on both accounts and matching email addresses. First and family names must also match, although Finnair says it can automatically adapt some differences involving hyphens, apostrophes or accented letters.
Check the rate, fee, timing and limits

The transaction and annual limits above are Finnair-specific; do not assume they apply to transfers involving other programmes. Check the relevant programme’s current terms for the exact route.

Who can transfer Avios?
Under the Avios Combine my Avios terms, the member must be at least 18, have an active account that is not under audit, and use accounts registered to the same person. Keep account information—including date of birth and email—accurate and current, as it may be used to validate the accounts. Finnair also specifies a 30-day account-age requirement; check its current FAQ for how that applies to your transfer.
Moving Avios between your own linked programme accounts is not the same service as sending points to another person. Avios’ terms describe a separate paid member-to-member service for British Airways Club and Iberia Club members: £50, or the equivalent in the account’s currency, per transaction. BA and Iberia Gold members can transfer under that service for free. These charges do not describe Combine my Avios account-to-account transfers.

What changes after a transfer—and what does not?
Once Avios arrive, the receiving programme’s terms apply to them. The originating programme’s rules continue to govern disputes about the original entitlement to those Avios. Qatar Airways’ terms for linking British Airways Executive Club and Qatar Privilege Club accounts and moving Avios took effect on 29 January 2025; consult the current Qatar Airways Avios terms before using that route.
A transfer does not count as earning or redeeming Avios, and it does not stop points from expiring under the applicable programme’s rules. Do not transfer solely to try to reset an expiry clock. The Avios terms and conditions distinguish moving points between your own programme accounts from earning or redeeming them.
