No—the SAS EuroBonus-to-Miles & More status match is not currently open. The Star Alliance campaign for eligible EuroBonus members ended on 30 November 2024. SAS joined SkyTeam on 1 September 2024, and the Miles & More status-match page reviewed on 8 October 2026 describes an offer for members of Malaysia-based airline loyalty programs, not EuroBonus members. Is the SAS EuroBonus status match still available?

No. Star Alliance’s status-match FAQ set 30 November 2024 as the deadline. That was a closed campaign, not a standing benefit for EuroBonus members. The current Miles & More status-match page reviewed on 8 October 2026 identifies Malaysia-based airline loyalty programs as its source market and does not list SAS EuroBonus. [Star Alliance] [Miles & More]

The available official information does not confirm a new SAS-to-Miles & More campaign. A future or unlisted promotion cannot be ruled out, so check for a dated notice and full terms from Miles & More or Star Alliance before relying on any claim that applications have reopened.

How the closed 2024 match worked

The historical offer let eligible EuroBonus members seek status with one participating Star Alliance airline. The Star Alliance FAQ listed Austrian, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa and SWISS as Miles & More routes for the match. Applicants selected one airline, and that choice could not be changed after submission. Participation was free. [Star Alliance]

SAS EuroBonus status Historical Miles & More match
Silver Frequent Traveller
Gold Senator
Diamond Senator
Pandion Senator

These mappings describe the expired 2024 offer; they are not current application options. Applicants also had to hold EuroBonus status earned through flying or other program activity. Status that had itself been matched into EuroBonus was ineligible, and lifetime status was not matched. [Star Alliance]

A Miles & More campaign sheet from 2024 described matched status as initially running through February 2025. It said a retention challenge could extend it through February 2026 after two flight segments for Frequent Traveller or six for Senator, completed by 30 November 2024 on listed Lufthansa Group airlines and co-issuing partners. Those dates and conditions belonged to that historical campaign; they are not a route to qualify now. [Miles & More]

What the Miles & More levels offered

A match did not make Frequent Traveller and Senator equivalent. Miles & More describes different benefits for each tier; actual access and partner benefits can depend on the airline, flight and fare. [Miles & More]

  • Frequent Traveller: Business Lounge access, priority check-in and unlimited mileage validity.
  • Senator: Senator and Star Alliance Gold lounge access, First Class check-in and priority boarding. On eligible flights, Senators can use eligible Senator and Star Alliance Gold lounges with a travel companion. Baggage allowances on partner airlines vary by carrier and fare.

The existence of these benefits does not establish that EuroBonus members can currently obtain either level through a match.

Where EuroBonus members stand after SAS left Star Alliance

SAS entered SkyTeam on 1 September 2024. In its alliance-transition announcement, SAS said EuroBonus Silver would be recognized as SkyTeam Elite, while Gold and Diamond would be recognized as SkyTeam Elite Plus. The same 2024 announcement cited 750+ airport lounges and 1,060+ destinations across SkyTeam; those were figures reported at the time, not verified current counts. [SAS]

That transition matters because keeping EuroBonus status is different from keeping Star Alliance recognition. EuroBonus remains SAS’s loyalty program, but the old Star Alliance match was a separate, time-limited way to seek status with a participating carrier. SAS’s earlier October 2023 statement about Star Alliance benefits applied while it remained in that alliance; the September 2024 entry announcement superseded it for alliance membership. [SAS] [SAS]

Does applying for a match cost or affect EuroBonus status?

The 2024 match was free, and the Star Alliance FAQ said applying for a match did not mean losing SAS EuroBonus status. That answer concerns the closed campaign; it does not imply an active application process. [Star Alliance]

If a new offer is announced, check its own terms for eligibility, the participating carrier, status mapping, application deadline, guest and lounge rules, and any flight segments required to retain the matched level. The former FAQ noted that only new flights after approval could count toward post-match qualification and that each airline set its own retention rules. [Star Alliance]
