Monetizr raised $4 million in a round reported on August 9, 2023, to expand its advertising platform for mobile games. Change Ventures led the round; Techstars and Ludus Ventures also participated, alongside angel investors Ari Paparo and Jared Schrieber. The headline promise was to replace intrusive ads with brand experiences woven into gameplay—but that describes the company’s ambition, not proof that it eliminated intrusive advertising or outperformed other ad formats.
What the $4 million funding report says
GamesBeat reported the round on August 9, 2023; its article page says it was updated June 18, 2025. The funding was intended to help Monetizr expand its advertising experience platform for mobile games. It is a historical funding announcement, not a newly reported 2026 raise.
- Amount: $4 million.
- Lead investor: Change Ventures.
- Other participants: Techstars and Ludus Ventures.
- Named angel investors: Ari Paparo and Jared Schrieber.
The report’s “replace intrusive game ads” framing should be read as a description of Monetizr’s positioning. The funding announcement does not establish that the platform removed intrusive ads from games or that its approach produced better results than alternatives.

Formats and player participation
The company describes Branded Missions, HTML5 and native formats, rewarded video, and brand-sponsored rewards. Its pitch is that players choose to engage and can receive a reward for doing so. Whether a specific placement feels natural or disruptive will depend on the game, the reward, and how the experience is implemented.
Monetizr invites brands to discuss campaigns and publishers to discuss integration through its brand and publisher pages. These pages explain the company’s offering; they are not independent product evaluations.

What brands and publishers should evaluate
For a brand or publisher considering the platform, the useful question is not simply whether an experience is called “immersive” or “opt-in.” Evaluate the proposal and its evidence against practical criteria:
- Opt-in design: Can players decline without losing access to ordinary gameplay or being repeatedly interrupted?
- Reward fit: Is the reward useful and proportionate, and does it fit the game’s existing economy?
- Audience fit: Do the games, players, and campaign objectives match the brand’s intended audience?
- Integration: What work is required from the publisher, and which formats are supported in the relevant game?
- Measurement: How are engagement, completion, viewability, and purchase intent defined and measured?
- Validation: Can results be independently checked, and are they reported with a clear sample, timeframe, and comparison?
Monetizr’s pages describe formats and publish performance claims, but the available evidence does not provide independent, comparative results across vendors. A prospective customer should therefore request campaign-specific methodology and evidence rather than assume that headline averages will apply to its own audience.
