When did Chicken McWings become permanent?
McDonald’s Australia announced that Chicken McWings officially joined its permanent menu on 11 June 2025, after a trial. The company described the product as 100% Australian, RSPCA Approved chicken with a crispy coating. The announcement said the item had spread on social media, but the reviewed sources provide no sales, reach or survey figures to quantify its popularity.

What serving sizes and sauces are listed?
The June 2025 launch announcement offered 3-piece and 5-piece servings, either on their own or as a meal. It paired a 3-piece serving with one sauce and a 5-piece serving with a choice of two. The named dips were new Ranch Sauce and returning Spicy Buffalo Sauce.
A later McDonald’s Australia core food menu document records an update dated 13 January 2026 adding a 10-piece McWings format. The 3- and 5-piece launch options therefore should not be assumed to be the only formats now listed. See the January 2026 core food menu document.
How many calories are in McWings?
McDonald’s Australia’s January 2026 core food menu document lists 480 Cal for a 3-piece serving and 799 Cal for a 5-piece serving.

What should people with food allergies know?
The January 2026 menu document says McWings contain wheat and gluten. It also says they are cooked using equipment shared with products containing gluten, wheat, milk and soy. Anyone managing an allergy or dietary restriction should consult McDonald’s current allergen and nutrition information and confirm details directly with the restaurant before ordering.

The 2025 announcement named drive-thru, kiosk, front counter and the MyMacca’s app as ordering channels at launch. McDonald’s product page says McWings are available after 10:30 a.m.; that timing and stock may not apply at every restaurant, so check current local ordering options before making a trip. The reviewed sources do not establish a uniform price or guarantee that every restaurant has the item in stock.
