Warner Bros. Discovery announced a 40% discount on annual plans for eligible new and returning U.S. HBO Max subscribers from June 18 through July 15, 2026. The offer was available through HBO Max.com, Prime Video Subscriptions, and The Roku Channel. The promotion period has ended, so its prices should not be treated as claimable now. Warner Bros. The headline “up to $60 off” does not match the promotion’s savings against the listed regular annual prices: the first-year differences were $31 for Basic With Ads, $52 for Standard, and $65 for Premium. The 40% figure instead compared the promotional annual charge with paying the regular monthly price for 12 months. - Compare the full first-year cost and the price that applies at renewal, not just the advertised discount.
- Consider whether you are willing to watch ads, how many people will stream at once, and whether 4K, Dolby Atmos, downloads, or live sports matter to you.
How to check out safely and avoid an unwanted renewal
- Open Max’s official signup page or the provider through which you intend to subscribe. Max says to choose a plan and billing period, enter account details, add a payment method, and start streaming. Max’s subscription instructions explain the signup process.
- Before paying, confirm that a discount is actually shown at checkout, that your account meets any stated eligibility rules, and which provider will bill you. Plan availability and subscription management can differ by billing provider.
- Check the total charge due today, the billing period, and the renewal price and date shown in the terms. Max says subscriptions auto-renew until canceled; the exact cancellation route depends on who bills you.
- If you do not want the next renewal, cancel through the billing provider before its stated billing deadline and keep the confirmation. Do not rely on the expired 2026 offer’s renewal prices to estimate what you will pay.
