The sender of the 2024 DMCA notice to Garry’s Mod has not been established by the available reporting. PC Gamer reported that a screenshot shared by Garry Newman appeared to show a request acting for Michael Bay-associated studio Invisible Narratives. But Skibidi Toilet creator Alexey Gerasimov publicly denied filing the notice, and the report did not establish that Bay personally sent or authorized it.
What did the 2024 Garry’s Mod notice say?
On July 30, 2024, PC Gamer reported that Garry Newman had shared a screenshot of a DMCA request on the S&box Discord. According to the report, the screenshot named Skibidi Toilet characters including Titan Cameraman, Titan Speakerman, Titan TV Man and Skibidi Toilet. It appeared to claim that the sender acted for Invisible Narratives, the studio associated in coverage with Michael Bay.

The original request is not reproduced in the cited reporting. That means the notice’s wording and sender cannot be independently checked here: what is established is PC Gamer’s description of Newman’s screenshot, not proof of who submitted or authorized the request. The headline shorthand that “Michael Bay’s studio” sent it goes further than the report establishes.
What did the Skibidi Toilet creator say?
Gerasimov, identified by PC Gamer as the series creator, posted on the S&box Discord: “I did NOT strike Garry’s Mod and I’m trying to understand what else is written in the letter!” His denial directly disputes the idea that he filed the notice. The report does not resolve who did.

PC Gamer also described Skibidi Toilet as using Half-Life 2 assets and reported that Gerasimov credited the Garry’s Mod machinima scene as an inspiration. That background helps explain why the report attracted attention, but it does not settle the legal status of any particular asset or identify the notice’s sender.
What later court records do—and do not—establish
Later litigation concerned a different party and different takedown requests. It provides context for Invisible Narratives’ rights claims, but it does not identify the sender or outcome of the 2024 Garry’s Mod request.

The 2025 case against Next Level
In a February 19, 2025 order in Invisible Narratives v. Next Level Apps Technology, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California recounted that Gerasimov assigned Skibidi Toilet copyright and trademark rights to Invisible Narratives on October 12, 2023. The order granted temporary relief against Next Level in that separate dispute. It was not a ruling about the Garry’s Mod notice.
The Episode 77 takedown
A separate court account says YouTube removed Skibidi Toilet Episode 77 on October 7, 2025, after a takedown request Next Level had made in February 2025. The episode was restored on December 3, 2025, after 57 days. The court found that Next Level violated a June 2025 injunction by failing to retract that request. This finding concerns Next Level’s conduct in the Episode 77 matter, not the 2024 Garry’s Mod incident.

The 2026 settlement announcement
On June 26, 2026, Invisible Narratives announced that Next Level had agreed to stop involvement with the franchise, acknowledge Invisible Narratives’ ownership and transfer its registrations. Those are the company’s descriptions of the settlement terms; they are not findings about who sent the earlier Garry’s Mod notice.
