The promotions ended in March 2025, so the prices below are historical—not current deals. The offers also differed by country and format, which matters when comparing what a buyer actually received.
What was included in the 2025 Mario Day offers?
The offers were not one uniform sale. Nintendo of Canada announced physical-game suggested retail prices and a hardware bundle in Canadian dollars. Separate North American reporting covered U.S.-dollar physical-game prices, while the eShop promotion applied to digital purchases.

Physical games: Canadian announced prices
Nintendo of Canada said select physical Nintendo Switch games would be available starting as early as March 6, 2025. The following were listed at a suggested retail price of $54.99 CAD:
- Super Mario Odyssey
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury
- Super Mario RPG
- Princess Peach: Showtime!
- Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD
Mario vs. Donkey Kong was listed at $44.99 CAD. Nintendo named Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart, London Drugs and Costco.ca among participating retailers in its March 4, 2025 announcement. These were Canadian suggested prices; retailers could set different prices, and the announcement did not guarantee that every retailer stocked every offer. Nintendo of Canada’s announcement
#1 Best Overall
- A variety of playable characters are available, some with unique attributes that affect gameplay and platforming physics.
- Younger and less-experienced players will love playing as Toadette, who is brand new to both games, and Nabbit, who was formerly only playable in New Super Luigi U. Both characters offer extra assistance during play.
- Multiplayer sessions are even more fun, frantic, and exciting thanks to entertaining character interactions. Need a boost? Try jumping off a teammate’s head or getting a teammate to throw you.
- Features a wealth of help features, like a Hints gallery, reference videos, and a Super Guide in New Super Mario Bros. U that can complete levels for you if they’re giving you trouble.
- Three additional modes—Boost Rush, Challenges, and Coin Battle—mix up gameplay and add replayability, while also upping the difficulty for players who want to try something harder. Players can use their Mii characters in these modes.
Physical games: U.S. prices reported for North America
Nintendo Life reported a U.S.-dollar retail offer available from March 9, 2025: the same six games were listed at $39.99 USD each, and Mario vs. Donkey Kong at $29.99 USD. Those are separate U.S. prices, not conversions of Nintendo of Canada’s Canadian suggested prices. Retailer price and stock could vary. Nintendo Life’s March 4, 2025 North American report
Digital eShop discounts
A different North American promotion applied to digital eShop purchases. Examples reported in March 2025 were:
| Digital game | Reported sale price | Reported discount |
|---|---|---|
| Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle | $9.99 USD | 75% off |
| Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope | $14.99 USD | 75% off |
| Super Mario Bros. Wonder | $41.99 USD | 30% off |
Nintendo Life’s roundup said the eShop sale ended March 16, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. PT. These were digital prices, not prices for physical cartridges. The sale also included other games and downloadable content. Nintendo Life’s March 14, 2025 eShop roundup

Nintendo of Canada promoted a Nintendo Switch – OLED Model + Super Mario Bros. Wonder bundle for $449.99 CAD. The package included the OLED system, a digital download of the game and a three-month Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership. It was a bundle, not simply a discount on the physical game.
Nintendo described the combined savings as $89.98 CAD, comparing the bundle with the suggested retail prices of the game and membership when purchased separately. The company said actual savings may vary; the figure is Nintendo’s comparison, not a guaranteed saving for every buyer. Nintendo of Canada’s bundle announcement
Were accessories discounted for Mario Day?
The announced offers were centered on games and a console bundle, not a broad accessory sale. Nintendo Life reported that Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo would be available at select North American retailers, but that report does not establish a Mario Day discount for the clock. The OLED package included hardware, a digital game and a membership; it should not be treated as an accessory deal.
How to compare these offers responsibly
For a historical comparison, keep each price tied to its market, format and offer window. For any purchase now, check the retailer’s current listing rather than relying on a 2025 promotion.
Quick Recap
- Match the market and currency: Nintendo of Canada’s figures were in CAD; Nintendo Life’s reported retail and eShop examples were in USD.
- Check format: a physical cartridge offer and a digital eShop discount are not interchangeable, even when the game title is the same.
- Compare the exact bundle contents: the OLED package included a digital game and three months of an Individual Membership, not a physical copy or a stated cash rebate.
- Confirm current listing details: verify the price, stock, region, edition and included items with the retailer or Nintendo before buying. The 2025 announcements do not establish present-day availability or a recurring promotion.
