MOSH raised $3 million in August 2023 to help move its brain-health protein bars from direct-to-consumer sales into physical retail. The round was described at the time as the company’s first institutional funding, intended to accelerate distribution—not as evidence that its retail targets had already been achieved.
What the $3 million round was meant to fund
NOSH reported on August 23, 2023, that MOSH planned to enter its first retail doors the following year and aimed for brick-and-mortar revenue to exceed direct-to-consumer sales by 2025. Those were forward-looking targets reported in 2023, not confirmation that the company met them. NOSH’s August 2023 report also quoted co-founder Patrick Schwarzenegger saying MOSH had generated more than $10 million in direct-to-consumer sales after almost two years. That was his account of company sales, not an independently audited figure.
TechCrunch’s coverage likewise characterized the $3 million as the brand’s first institutional capital to speed retail distribution. The round was led by clients of Main Street Advisors; other named investors were Joyance Ventures, The Lab Capital Advisors, Verso Capital, and Entrepreneur Ventures.
Who founded MOSH and what it sells
Maria Shriver and Patrick Schwarzenegger founded MOSH in 2021. The founders and company say the brand was inspired by a family experience with Alzheimer’s. MOSH describes itself as a brain-health nutrition company centered on protein bars; that positioning is not evidence that its products prevent or treat Alzheimer’s or improve cognition.

The company’s mission page names ingredients including Cognizin citicoline, lion’s mane, vitamin D3, vitamin B12, ashwagandha, and omega-3. These are product and ingredient descriptions, not proof of a medical effect.
How the later funding and retail milestones differ
The $3 million round belongs to the August 2023 expansion story. It should not be conflated with a separate, later financing event: in May 2026, MOSH announced a $13 million Series A led by Main Street Advisors. The company said at that time that it had surpassed 2,000 U.S. retail doors and was expanding into national grocery. Those funding and footprint figures are company-reported. MOSH’s Series A announcement provides the later milestone, not a revision to the 2023 round.

What MOSH’s current retail presence means for shoppers
In a June 2026 profile, Target said MOSH High Protein bars were available in Target stores nationwide. The profile lists Peanut Butter Cup, Chocolate Sea Salt, and Oatmeal Chocolate Chip, and describes each bar as containing 20 grams of protein, creatine, and MOSH’s Signature Brain Blend. Nationwide availability describes the retailer’s reported distribution, not guaranteed stock at any particular store; check the live listing or local inventory before making a trip. MOSH also says it sells through Amazon, but current listings and availability can change.
MOSH’s channel and product range have evolved over time. A 2025 NOSH report discussed a vegan bar collection and the company’s then-current retail footprint and sales strategy; its flavors and channel details are dated to that report and should not be assumed to represent the full current assortment. NOSH’s 2025 coverage is a snapshot of that period.
