Matt Leinart’s net worth is commonly estimated at $12 million by Celebrity Net Worth, but that is an unverified third-party estimate—not a figure confirmed by a public financial disclosure. Published estimates of his NFL career earnings also differ, and neither reveals his present-day assets, debts, or net worth.
What is Matt Leinart’s estimated net worth?
Celebrity Net Worth lists Leinart’s net worth at $12 million. The page does not state a publication date, and the sources reviewed do not provide a verified balance sheet or financial disclosure confirming the estimate. His actual current wealth is therefore not established by the available public figures.
Net worth is the value of assets minus liabilities. Career salary totals, contract values, and a current job are not substitutes for that calculation: they do not show taxes, spending, investments, debts, or other assets and obligations.
Why published NFL earnings totals differ
Two sources publish different totals for Leinart’s NFL career earnings. Celebrity Net Worth estimates $18.8 million in NFL salary earnings, while Over The Cap lists $22,645,000 in career earnings in its contract database. These are attributed figures from different sources, not equivalent audited totals. The available information does not explain enough about their methods to reconcile them, so they should not be averaged or treated as his net worth.

Why the Cardinals contract maximum is not money earned
Celebrity Net Worth describes Leinart’s 2006 Arizona Cardinals contract as a six-year deal with a maximum value of $51 million. That ceiling should not be mistaken for cash he received. Arizona released him before the 2010 season, ending the arrangement before its scheduled future compensation could be paid in full. NFL.com reported that $2.5 million was due for the coming season, with further scheduled compensation and a roster bonus for the season after.
Leinart later signed a one-year contract with Houston in 2010. NFL.com reported a $630,000 base salary and said the deal could rise to $1 million. That is a historical contract report, not evidence of his income today.

Leinart’s football résumé helps explain why earnings estimates attract attention, but it cannot verify a net-worth figure. USC Athletics records that he won the 2004 Heisman Trophy, went 37–2 as a starter, and was selected in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft. He played for the Cardinals, Houston Texans, and Oakland Raiders. The College Football Hall of Fame also documents his Heisman win and college career.
NFL.com lists 33 appearances, 18 starts, and 4,065 passing yards. These career statistics describe his playing record, not his finances.
