UEFA Technical Observer Rui Faria wrote of that first leg: “United’s plan to run behind is clear when Real Sociedad are high up the pitch,” and, “United created their chances by finding runners.” These comments explain the tactical discussion at the time; they are not evidence for a prediction about a later fixture.
What does the head-to-head record show?
Before the second leg, UEFA’s match page recorded six prior meetings: Manchester United had won three, two had ended in draws, and Real Sociedad had won one. This is a historical tally, not a predictive model, and it does not establish the likely outcome of any future match.

Can these tips be used for a future meeting?
No. A future prediction would require a confirmed fixture and fresh information, including the match date, venue, competition round, team availability and contemporaneous betting prices.
