Lance “Buddy” Franklin and Jesinta Franklin sold Villa Casa, their seven-bedroom home in Reedy Creek, in November 2025 before its scheduled auction. They had relisted it in September 2025 with a reported $10.9 million asking price, following a 2024 campaign that was withdrawn. The sale price was not disclosed.

What happened to the Franklins’ Gold Coast mansion?

The Franklins’ second campaign ended in a sale, not an auction. Domain reported on 14 November 2025 that Villa Casa had sold late the previous week to an interstate buyer from Victoria, before the scheduled auction. The agents reported three strong offers during a campaign that lasted about 60 days. Domain’s sale report did not disclose the transaction price.

The sale was also reported by realestate.com.au on 12 November 2025, which described the buyer as a family from Victoria. Neither report identifies the buyer or gives the contract terms.

Why was it listed for a second time?

The phrase “second time” refers to the 2025 relisting after the home’s 2024 campaign was withdrawn without a sale after about two months, according to PerthNow’s October 2025 report. The asking price reported for the September 2025 relisting was $10.9 million. That was the advertised ask, not the eventual sale price.

The couple said their next move helped them commit to selling. Lance Franklin told realestate.com.au, as quoted by PerthNow: “It has taken us purchasing our next property to be fully ready to let this one go.” He also said: “We’ve always envisioned raising the kids on a hobby farm.”

Jesinta Franklin described a search for land where the family could build a farmhouse, raise animals and grow vegetables. She said they had found a place nearer to her parents and their children’s school. These are the reasons the couple gave for moving.

What is known about the price?

The sale price remains undisclosed in the November 2025 reports, so the relisting price and valuation estimate should not be mistaken for the result. The figures reported by Domain in 2025 are:

Figure What it represents
$8.75 million Reported purchase price when the Franklins bought the home in November 2022.
$10.9 million Reported asking price for the 2025 relisting, not a confirmed sale price.
$8.39 million to more than $10.61 million Domain data estimate range reported in 2025; it is not the transaction price.
Undisclosed Sale price reported in November 2025.

Because the final price is unknown, these sources do not establish whether the Franklins made a gain or loss on the property.

What is Villa Casa like?

Villa Casa is a Mediterranean-inspired residence in Reedy Creek, in the Gold Coast hinterland. PerthNow and Domain describe it as a seven-bedroom, eight-bathroom home designed by architect Reece Keil and built by Tidal Constructions. Reported features include coastal and skyline views, arched exterior details, a half-moon kitchen island, and a pool with a swim-up bar.

The 2022 acquisition coverage reported that the property was completed in November 2021 and won the Gold Coast Master Builders Awards’ House of the Year in 2022. That award detail is attributed to the contemporary acquisition report. The report also gave land and home-area measurements, but the exact area basis is not clear enough to compare them reliably.
