In 2009, Karen Sala alleged that Keanu Reeves was the father of her four children and sought $3 million a month in spousal support. She also sought $150,000 a month in retroactive child support. Those were her requests—not payments a court ordered. In January 2010, Ontario judge Fred Graham dismissed the case, according to contemporaneous reporting.
What Sala claimed—and what Reeves said
Sala’s 2009 Ontario claim alleged a relationship with Reeves and sought paternity testing and financial support. News reports described her four children as adults by the time of the 2010 hearing; one report listed their ages as 25, 23, 22 and 21.
Reeves denied knowing Sala. His lawyer said DNA testing excluded Reeves as the father, and Sala disputed the test result. That account comes from reports of statements by Reeves’s lawyer; the court’s judgment and the underlying laboratory report were not located in the available reporting. The test result should therefore be understood as a reported claim in the dispute, not as an independently reviewed scientific finding.
How the two support requests differed
The reported amounts were demands Sala made, not awards. The requests concerned different kinds of support and reached back to different dates:

| Type of support sought | Reported amount | Requested retroactive period |
|---|---|---|
| Spousal support | $3 million Canadian dollars per month | From November 2006 |
| Child support | $150,000 per month | From June 1988 |
These figures and dates were reported in 2010 news coverage. They describe what Sala sought, not a finding that Reeves owed either amount.
What happened at the hearing
At the January 2010 hearing, Sala challenged the reported DNA result. Reeves’s lawyer argued that Sala’s former husband had been identified as the children’s father in divorce documents. CityNews reported that, according to the lawyer, Sala did not seek testing of her former husband and did not produce the children’s birth certificates.

CityNews reported that Judge Fred Graham dismissed the case. The outlet quoted him describing the allegations as “so incredible” that no reasonable judge would accept them and saying a trial would be “a waste of limited judicial resources.” Those comments and the dismissal are reported by CityNews; the court’s own judgment was not available in the reporting cited here.
Was Reeves ordered to pay $3 million a month?
No. The $3 million figure was Sala’s monthly spousal-support request. She separately sought $150,000 per month in child support. The case was dismissed, and the reports do not describe either request as a court-ordered payment.

What is known about the case’s later status?
The contemporaneous reports establish that the claim was dismissed in January 2010. They do not establish whether there was a later appeal or related proceeding, so no conclusion about subsequent court activity can be drawn from those reports alone.
