The key detail in Reading FC’s takeover announcement was that the deal included both the Select Car Leasing Stadium and Bearwood Park Training Ground. The club announced a sale in principle to Redwood Holdings Limited on 3 May 2025; subsequent company records and the club’s current ownership information show the transition took effect.
What did the Reading FC takeover include?
Reading FC’s 3 May 2025 announcement said the takeover included the Select Car Leasing Stadium and Bearwood Park Training Ground. The club named Redwood Holdings Limited as the buyer and described it as a subsidiary of Dogwood Football LLC, which it said was owned by Rob Couhig and Todd Trosclair.
The announcement was explicit about the assets, but it did not state a purchase price. The reviewed official sources likewise do not establish the consideration, a complete debt assumption or the full financing package. Registered charges are not, by themselves, evidence of the price paid.
Was the deal completed?
On 3 May 2025, Reading described the transaction as a sale in principle and said completion was expected shortly, subject to final legal technicalities. That announcement alone did not confirm completion.

Companies House records Redwood Holdings 1 Ltd as a person with significant control from 14 May 2025 and shows the previous controller ceasing on that date. Reading FC’s current company-details page says Reading Football Club Limited is owned in its entirety by Redwood Holdings Limited. These records establish the current stated ownership; they do not disclose the sale price.

How the takeover unfolded
- 7 October 2024: Reading FC said it had a period of exclusivity with a potential purchaser. The club said the proposed sale included Dai Yongge’s shareholding, the stadium and Bearwood Park. It also said an EFL registration embargo had been imposed because the 2022–23 accounts were late.
- 27 March 2025: The club said it had submitted the 2022–23 accounts to Companies House earlier that week, lifting the associated transfer embargo.
- 22 April 2025: The EFL said it continued to monitor Reading’s immediate cash-flow requirements. This was a statement about the situation at that time, not evidence of the club’s current finances.
- 3 May 2025: Reading announced the sale in principle to Redwood Holdings Limited, naming the stadium and training ground among the included assets and saying completion remained subject to legal technicalities.
- 14 May 2025: The Companies House control and director records show the transition taking effect from this date.
What the public records do—and do not—show
For fans, the most concrete disclosed point is that both the stadium and training ground were included. For anyone assessing the deal financially, the available official statements and company records reviewed here do not provide a transaction price or enough information to calculate the buyer’s total financial commitment. Companies House filing entries for charges should not be treated as a proxy for either figure.

The takeover process followed a period of financial and regulatory scrutiny. In October 2024 the club linked an EFL registration embargo to late filing of its 2022–23 accounts. In March 2025 it said submitting those accounts lifted the associated embargo. Separately, the EFL’s 22 April 2025 update said it was monitoring immediate cash-flow requirements. These dated statements provide context for the sale process, but they should not be read as a description of Reading’s current financial position.
