Tucker Fresh IGA’s Kinross store received three national honours at the IGA National Retail Excellence Awards hosted by Metcash, according to a PerthNow report published on 17 July 2024. The awards were presented in the Gold Coast that week, the report said.
What awards did Tucker Fresh Kinross win?
The Kinross store received these three awards, as named in PerthNow’s 2024 report:
- IGA National Retailer of the Year — the retailer-wide award.
- National Large Store of the Year — a store-category award.
- National Large Grocery and General Merchandise Department of the Year — a department-category award.
The awards were part of the IGA National Retail Excellence Awards, hosted by Metcash. PerthNow described the awards generally as recognizing customer service, community involvement and overall store performance. It did not publish a formal judging rubric or explain the specific reasons Kinross won each category. PerthNow’s report was published on 17 July 2024; it says the awards were presented in the Gold Coast that week but does not give a separate ceremony date.
What did Tucker Fresh executives say about the wins?
Poojan Shah, Tucker Fresh head of operations and executive partner, credited the group’s staff: “An organisation is only as good as its people and our people are truly the best — they make Tucker Fresh what it is today,” and “We are immensely proud of everyone that’s part of Tucker Fresh; we love them and this award is for them all.”

Where does Kinross fit in the Tucker Fresh group?
PerthNow reported in July 2024 that Kinross was one of 12 Tucker Fresh stores. That is a dated group count from the report, not a verified current total. Brown’s remarks described the group’s goal as becoming Western Australia’s leading independent supermarket group; they do not establish that it had reached that position.
