Third-party salary estimates put Jeremy Sarmiento on £20,000 a week at Brighton in 2024–25. In the same season, Middlesbrough’s highest listed earner was Kelechi Iheanacho at an estimated £75,000 a week. Sarmiento’s later Middlesbrough wage is estimated at £25,000 a week for 2026–27—but that is a different season, and none of these figures is a club-confirmed salary.
How Sarmiento’s Brighton estimate compares with Middlesbrough’s 2024–25 top earners
FBref’s Brighton wage table, which credits Capology for the data, lists Sarmiento at an estimated £20,000 per week, or £1,040,000 annualized, for 2024–25. The entry is explicitly marked “Unverified estimation,” so it should be treated as a database estimate rather than a disclosed contract wage. FBref’s 2024–25 Brighton wage table
| Player and club | Season | Estimated weekly wage | Estimated annual equivalent | Evidence status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jeremy Sarmiento, Brighton | 2024–25 | £20,000 | £1,040,000 | FBref lists it as an unverified estimate credited to Capology |
| Kelechi Iheanacho, Middlesbrough | 2024–25 | £75,000 | £3.9 million | SalaryLeaks estimate; listed as the club’s highest earner |
| Ryan Giles, Middlesbrough | 2024–25 | £35,000 | £1.8 million | SalaryLeaks estimate |
| Luke Ayling, Middlesbrough | 2024–25 | £30,000 | £1.6 million | SalaryLeaks estimate |
On those 2024–25 estimates, Iheanacho’s listed weekly wage was £55,000 higher than Sarmiento’s and 3.75 times as large. Giles’s estimate was £15,000 higher per week, while Ayling’s was £10,000 higher. SalaryLeaks describes the Middlesbrough amounts as estimates, not official club disclosures. Why Sarmiento’s later Middlesbrough estimate is different
The reported £25,000-a-week Middlesbrough figure belongs to 2026–27, not 2024–25. Capology’s current search-result listing puts Sarmiento and Callum Brittain at an estimated £25,000 per week each, or £1.3 million annualized, with Brittain named as the club’s highest-paid player. Capology’s page could not be inspected, so this should be read cautiously as a database result, not a verified contract term. Capology’s 2026–27 Middlesbrough salaries listing

SalaryLeaks also returns a £25,000-a-week estimate for Sarmiento at Middlesbrough, but its page was not available for inspection; that result offers only limited corroboration. SalaryLeaks’ Sarmiento salary result The 2026–27 estimate is £5,000 a week above the Brighton 2024–25 estimate, but the comparison spans different seasons and clubs and does not establish the terms of a contract change.

What the wage figures do—and do not—show
- They are estimates, not confirmed pay. Brighton’s entry is explicitly unverified, and SalaryLeaks labels its Middlesbrough figures as estimates. Brighton’s transfer announcement disclosed no wage.
- The seasons matter. Sarmiento’s £20,000 figure and Middlesbrough’s 2024–25 top-earner figures are same-season estimates. The £25,000 Sarmiento figure is a separate 2026–27 estimate.
- Annual figures are listed equivalents. They are the salary sites’ annualized values, not proof of take-home pay, bonuses, tax treatment, or the precise payments in a contract.
