What was the last date to apply for JKSSB’s 128 posts?
JKSSB’s Advertisement Notification No. 01 of 2023 was dated 11 April 2023. The government notification originally listed 17 April as the application start date and 16 May 2023 as the last date. Scroll reported on 18 May that the Board had extended the deadline to 23 May; its report on 23 May identified that as the final application date. JKSSB’s advertisement listing records the notice, while the notification text is available in the 2023 notification. Scroll’s 18 May report covered the extension and its 23 May report gave the final date.
That difference explains why some early coverage says 16 May: it was the original cutoff, not the extended final deadline.
How many vacancies were there in each post?
The notice advertised 128 Division/District Cadre posts connected to the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj and the Jal Shakti Department. Scroll’s report dated 23 May 2023 gave this breakdown:

Is the JKSSB 2023 application still open?
No. The deadline passed on 23 May 2023, so this recruitment is closed to new applications. For a current opportunity, check the latest notice on the JKSSB announcements page and follow that notice’s own dates, eligibility requirements, fee and application instructions. The Board’s FAQ describes its general recruitment stages, but it does not reopen this 2023 application.
What fee did reports give for the application?
Scroll’s 2023 report stated an application fee of Rs 500 for general-category applicants and Rs 400 for SC/ST/PwD/EWS applicants. These are figures reported at the time; the notification text cited above has not been independently verified here for the fee.

Eligibility for this recruitment depended on the conditions in Advertisement No. 01 of 2023. JKSSB’s FAQ says applicants must meet the requirements in the relevant notice and that qualifications acquired after the applicable application cutoff do not qualify for that selection. Do not assume the criteria for another JKSSB recruitment apply to this one; consult the original advertisement for its specific qualifications and conditions.
