The JNVST Class 9 and 11 lateral-entry application correction window for the 2025–26 admission cycle closed on November 28, 2024. The Lateral Entry Selection Test (LEST) was scheduled for February 8, 2025, so neither date is current. The official Class IX portal now shows the 2027–28 cycle, with an extended application deadline of October 15, 2026.

When did the 2025–26 correction window close?

Scroll reported that the online correction window for Class IX and XI Lateral Entry Selection Test applications was open on November 27 and 28, 2024, and closed on November 28. Its report quoted the notification as saying, “The online correction window will remain open on 27.11.2024 & 28.11.2024.” This was a two-day window for the 2025–26 admission cycle, not an active deadline today. What details could Class 9 applicants correct?

Scroll listed these Class IX fields for correction:

  • Gender: male, female or transgender
  • Category: general, OBC, SC or ST
  • Area: rural or urban
  • Disability

The report did not specify which fields Class XI applicants could correct. The Class XI field list should therefore not be assumed to match Class IX. The 2025 Class XI prospectus search result indicated a two-day correction window after the application deadline, but the exact permitted fields are not established in the available details. 2025 Class XI prospectus search result

How did applicants make changes during that window?

The 2024 report described this process for the correction period then in effect:

  1. Visit the official Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) website and choose the correction link for the Class IX or Class XI lateral-entry application.
  2. Enter the registration number and date of birth.
  3. Make the permitted changes and submit the updated application.
  4. Download or print the corrected form for reference.

These were instructions for the November 2024 window. They do not establish that the old correction link remains available now. Scroll’s November 28, 2024 report

What is the current Class 9 portal showing?

As of October 8, 2026, the official NVS Class IX portal identifies the current registration cycle as Class IX Lateral Entry Admission 2027–28 and displays an extended application deadline of October 15, 2026. It also links to the prospectus and a previous-year question booklet. These are details for the 2027–28 Class IX cycle, not the expired 2025–26 correction window. Official NVS Class IX portal

What was the 2025 exam date?

The 2024 notice report gave February 8, 2025, as the scheduled LEST date. That date has passed; it is not a future exam date. Scroll’s November 28, 2024 report

Where should applicants check for a current update?

For a new admission cycle, use the NVS portal for the relevant class and cycle, and rely on its current notice for application deadlines, any correction period, and permitted fields. The active Class IX portal is labeled for 2027–28. The 2024 correction instructions and dates should not be used as current-cycle guidance.
