Yes. For the Jharkhand Secretariat Stenographer Competitive Examination (JSSCE) 2024, Scroll reported on October 8, 2024, that the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) extended the application deadline to October 10, 2024. The reported correction window ran through October 12, 2024. Both dates have passed; this is a historical update, not current application guidance.
What were the JSSCE 2024 application dates?
Scroll’s October 8, 2024 report said candidates could submit an application through the JSSC website until October 10, 2024, and make corrections until October 12, 2024. The original JSSC extension notice was not independently retrieved, so these dates are attributed to Scroll’s report, rather than presented as confirmed from the commission’s notice.
What recruitment details did the report give?
Scroll reported that JSSCE 2024 was recruiting for 454 vacancies. It listed a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university or institute as the education requirement, and application fees of ₹50 for applicants from Jharkhand’s SC/ST categories and ₹100 for other categories.
Those are the details reported in that article, not a complete eligibility guide. The available reporting does not establish the category-wise vacancy breakdown, the full eligibility rules, or the earlier deadline that the extension replaced.

Is October 10 a current JSSC application deadline?
No. October 10, 2024 was the reported deadline for JSSCE 2024, and it is in the past. A separate JSSC-branded portal result lists October 18, 2026, for applications to the Jharkhand Trained Assistant Acharya (Para Category) Combined Competitive Examination (JTAACCE-2026). That is a different examination and schedule, not an update to JSSCE.
