The title refers to a brief anecdote posted to AnandTech Forums on September 22, 2004: a user said he met Roger Riney at a St. Louis technology incubator and recognized him from Scottrade commercials. The post is evidence of what the user reported, not independent confirmation that the meeting happened or that the guest was Riney.

What the post reports

The thread’s initial post was written by a user identified as TechBoyJK. He said his company and others had been accepted into a St. Louis technology incubator. During a visit by guests, the incubator director introduced Roger Riney and another man; TechBoyJK said he recognized Riney from Scottrade commercials and referred to him as “the SCOTT Trade dude.”

TechBoyJK added, “i dunno, think its kind of cool……” The excerpt identifies the author only by that forum handle and does not provide his real name or a formal role.

What is—and is not—established

The source is an anecdotal forum post, not an independent account of the encounter. It records TechBoyJK’s identification of the guest and his description of the introduction, but the excerpt does not verify that the meeting took place or independently confirm the guest’s identity. It also contains no formal statement from Riney, Scottrade, or the incubator.
